With what purpose ?
Why Americans do this?
they do it because it looks cool
Tourism with massive sculptures made from mountains
I live 45 minutes away from Rushmore ama
>No Obama
>Cool
It was made before Obama was born, why would he ever be on it
They did not finished this one cause was a native doing a "fuck off indigenous sign", right ? But they only discovered before starting it, at least was what i read.
You realize like No Americans go to this stupid rock. It's entire purpose is just so we can put it in textbooks.
No, it's still under construction
I think it's pretty tacky, but it gets a lot of tourists.
Two and a half million annual visitors would like to disagree with you
Movies taught me that is one of the favorite trips of American families.
Interesting. i read somewhere that this Crazy Horse one had some type of "political" problem and due to that wasn't being finished, but I read it a long time ago and I'm not quite sure anymore.
Would look better if it was finished
>Movies taught me that is one of the favorite trips of American families.
Incorrect.
Yeah its the grand cannyon right?
It's funded through private donations and the Lakota don't particularly like the fact it is being made
Besides that there isn't anything particularly wrong with it besides it taking so long
who are these 2 in the middle?
Grand Canyon is one of them. Yosemite is also really popular
Thomas Jefferson and Theodore Roosevelt
Thomas Jefferson and Teddy Roosevelt
If people want to see more outdoors areas on a trip it tends to be the grand canyon, Yosemite or Sequoia, in my experience.
wtf there were 2 roosevelts?
to transcend the forgettable and simple organisms that leave nothing to mark their posterity to the ages
Yes, Theodore and Franklin, and yes they were related.
And two Adams and two Bushes
Half of those are chinese and mexicans seeking a higher validation
dubya was based
>Movies taught me that is one of the favorite trips of American families.
Those movies were propaganda. My favorite trip by far was to the Grand Cranyon. Shit is actually insane. Also seeing the New York skyline for the first time is insane.
Yep
Most are Americans, I can assure you
gud taste
sincere
why people talk shit about him tho? as far as I knew he did nothing wrong
>why do americans do this
how is the idea of memorializing important leaders foreign to any nation
He got us involved in shitty wars and undermined the constitution with his patriot act
he fit a caricature that europeans have about americans, he was most damously known as the governor of texas, he occasionally made mistakes in his turns of phrase, and he had a funny texan accent
Lmao did Americans really copy the Hokage rock faces from Naruto? Fucking weebs.
>patriot act
oh, right
>he fit a caricature that europeans have about americans
kind of, but he was down to earth guy, just your regular american being a president
>why people talk shit about him tho? as far as I knew he did nothing wrong
>dubya was based
ah yes, you're still with us, I wasn't sure if any of you were left
Two Johnsons and two Harrisons too.
>he was down to earth guy
He was a rich guy from a rich family from New England LARPing as a regular American. He was no such thing.
I didn't like George W. Bush. Obama was fine in my opinion, mostly because he didn't do much and for the most part just sat in the back row of things and occasionally acted "woke" when necessary. He veto'd everything from congress, and congress refused to work with the democrats. It was like 6 years of just sitting on our hands doing nothing.
I like Trump. He's everything a president should not be, and somehow he pulls it off.
I think mount Rushmore is the ugliest historical sculpture of all
America needs a better art department
Thank you for your opinion
Do you enjoy hiking?
How big is that?
why didn't they finish it, though?
