Anyone here a Mensa member...

Anyone here a Mensa member? Is it worth it in terms of forming interesting relationships/networking or for other reasons?

Bump

is warren buffet a mensa member? is trump one too?

Mensa:
>you all scored high on a test!
>now, talk to one another
>
>
>

I am not in MENSA but have met a number of people in MENSA. All of them were self-centered autists who didn't want to talk about anything other than how smart they were. If you are a pretentious fuck who completely lacks the social skills required to converse with normies, then you might be a perfect fit, user.

That's what I'm afraid of, actually. It might be the case that high-functioning high IQ people just go about their business and don't have time for special clubs for nerds.

To add to this and direct more towards your questipn, it might actually be good for networking. I say give it a shot.

Certain applications can look better and go faster if you provide proof you're smart. Thats really the only benefit

We'll never know.

I would want to know just so I know that I can, then maybe leave.

People sure like to diss them, but if you could not even join their club if you wanted, that just makes your opinion sound like sore losers. Sure, maybe they are self pretentious pricks, but why not try to do the simple test and see it yourself. Talking big sure is cheap, unless someone posts proof of their membership with timestamp and calls them pretentious fucks, what does it matter? That's why you are never going to make it, cheap prices for cheap people.

Fuck no.

Pretty much this. You may have luck to have a nice group of individuals who found some nice peers, but you might as well end up in a group of not so nice people who want to feel special 24/7 because they passed a test.

Better try to networking in a group of entrepreneurs, maybe on the campus of the next university.

I'm sitting my official Mensa test in a few weeks and I've been wondering the same thing. I'm taking it mainly as an addition to my CV, but I also hope that I may be able to meet some interesting people and network with individuals who aren't completely vacuous.

I'm a fake Mensa member. I go to meetups to meet Mensa ho's, because they are usually incredibly deprived of the type of man they are actually attracted to.
Most Mensa males are very effeminate, and not physically imposing. Literally all I have to do is show up and chit chat, pretend to listen, then give them my business card.
I like 'smart' chicks, but I like dicking them down till they act like a retarded, horny animal even more. It's intensely satisfying wrapping my fingers around the throat of a "145" iq biomechanical whatever researcher and telling her I'm going to cum inside of her, and having her beg for it.
I'm telling you...all women are the same, no matter their IQ. However the more surrounded they are with 'nice' 'smart' betamales, the more desperate they are for some asshole like me to swoop in and give them what they need.
Funny thing is I can still talk circles around the aspies at these meetings, even if I don't know shit about shit. Bullshiting ability >>>> IQ unless its practical application in a sterile setting, every time.

Yea I'd be curious to hear from some actual Mensa members, if he above post is true it sounds awesome as fuck. If they do have meet ups it is a win regardless of any other factors

I have a friend in Mensa, one of the most competent and successful people I know, never asked him about it tho

if you're a weak and insecure pretentious little cunt sign right up OP

>Bullshiting ability >>>> IQ
true

Do attractive young women actually go to mensa meetings?

I literally find this impossible to believe

No.

I've been asked to join a couple of times, though.

Seems like a wankfest of people whose only redeeming trait is their intelligence.

Bullshitting ability directly correlates with IQ on certain levels, though.

There aren't as many high IQ women as there are men it seems. Also the guy is obviously larping.

Attached: GenderIQ.gif (587x328, 6K)

>Bullshiting ability >>>> IQ
this is because iq has nothing to do with critical thinking or social skills and iq tests are relative to the testing population, so there could be some extremely intelligent people that didn't take the test making them less smarter than these people think they are. and like stephen hawking says, anyone that brags about IQ is a loser and honestly probably a retard too.

Can’t speak for other countries than Norway, but our facebook groups are pretty autistic. Haven’t gone to any of the meetups yet. I only joined to put it on my CV when i was looking for a job after I graduated.

I can comment if you'd like, even though the membership I am using isn't mine.
I will be honest, even though the men are betamales, the quality of discussion and topics and activities are light years beyond blue collar bar banter, stoner discussions, and normie chit chat.

I've gone to stuff before to just poke my head in and see if there were any skinny chicks around, but stayed because they were talking about cool shit. Usually the minute SJW stuff starts being injected I duck out, but when nobody (read: cunts) is looking, smart guys occasionally have some compelling conversations.

There are not many female attendees to begin with, but the ones that do go are usually a different breed than the normie thot hambeast.

what's your IQ? I want to live this life. Honestly nothing compels me more than fucking a hot 145 biomechanical engineer

Mensa is literally biz but not full of retards
Paradoxically it’s equally as retarded in terms of being a self serving echo chamber

>be a Chad boomer business owner who inherited his wealth and can barely string a sentence together
>some little cuck writes down "Mensa member" on his CV
>*into the trash it goes*

>mensa in cv
Did it work? I would not dare to put it there, it would seem pretentious. Bring it up maybe if they literally talk about your intelligence or mensa.

>take a test that basically tells you whether or not you even have a shot at the real test
>look at the questions, hardly any of them are making sense
>”what pattern comes next”
>cogs aren’t spinning, none of them look like they have a logical answer
>go all my life with above average intelligence, but now I just feel like a brainlet
I don’t like this feel.

I've never had my IQ tested, and don't care to. Getting fake credentials for clubs like this is trivially easy. I belong to 8 different country clubs, for example. I don't actually pay for them, I just go golfing at their member rate.

Its not like this is my hobby, its just something I do every so often since its access to a social circle that I rarely interact with. I also go because its usually only whites and asians, though recently a bunch of faggy, awkward little bobbleheads have started showing up. Indians really love having that "high IQ stamp" to show off, apparently.

>mensa in cv
Never do this. Seriously.

I think it actually helped me get the job I have now. A lot of people don’t think you should have it on your CV though. It is one of the most discussed topics, whether or not you should put it on your CV.

>Getting fake credentials for clubs like this is trivially easy
how to do? also, how many women actually go?

Did a test at mensa, got tested 136 and got an invitation.

Didnt enter tho cause they wanted money (only first year was free) and the guys who did the test with me looked boring af - the type of guys who play magic.

HOWEVER there were some young nerdy cutie girls doing the test with me. Thinking about i may actually join and go to one of these monthly meetings and try to bang one of these cuties.

how do you attend the meetups? They don't ask for ID or proof of authenticity?

wait what? you can do the test irl?

You mean the wifes?

I thought thats the only way to do it? In my country mensa offers regular irl tests and only accepts these. Internet tests are obv flawed (and calibrated to make you score higher than you really are)

Put your money where your mouths are. I got 27 right and I think I’m average iq.

Ding ding ding. Smart people don't do shit like this. I'm glad it exists though, it's a great way to identify autists irl and to steer clear.

Its like saying "I did this test and it said that Im pretty smart, isnt it nice?"

In a professional world that would be only bonus, why would it weight you down? Only because people are petty, jealous and cunts does it weight you down. I mean many employees want to tell you about their hobbies, but dear god, dont ever take mention doing any tests about your iq.

>how to do?
You pay somebody who knows how to do it, to do it for you. Or you learn how to do it yourself. Go ask "around". Usually involves using existing credentials and assuming that identity.
>women
depends, in college areas the meetups can have a lot of young women
I have credentials from somebody with a social media profile that looks like me. If they ask for driver license or other shit (only happened once) I just walked away and come back later with a few starbucks drinks like I was on a coffee run and skipped the check in completely.
Most of the time they don't even check. It's literally just a circle jerking meetup.

It’d weigh you down because the employer may view you as someone who thinks of themselves as better than others, including the employer. Call it jealous if you want, but we all met someone like that and nobody likes that fucking guy. If you are smart, it’ll show off in how you carry yourself in the interview.

Failed but clever people go there to complain about normies succeeding.

wait your test had more than 19 questions? the one i just did only had 18. pic related.

Ur right, not denying it. Not sure would I even make in, would be fun to actually know.

Yeah thats what I thought as well. Most companies have you do shitloads of tests anyway so I don’t really see a downside. As a student you don’t really have a lot of experience so I thought anything that would make me stick out of the crowd was a good thing. For some reason a lot of people don’t like it, but I figured I don’t want to work for those people so I don’t care.

Yeah link I posted had 32 or 33 I believe. The one you posted seems a bit too easy though? Pic related, I don’t think that requires critical thinking and most third graders can easily answer that.

I don’t need a membership or a test to validate my existence

That’s a lot of eth..

one friend of mine is a MENSA member and he smokes, her wife smokes (she's the daughter of a famous soccer player and the nephew of a family of both bankers and aristocrats) and his mother-in-law recently sued him

as you can see he exhibits typical traits of both smart and retarded people, kek

Am I cool now

If Mensa was good for networking we would know about it.

anyone who brags about being in Mensa deserves an assbeating

literal autists jerking themselves off over a meaningless designation

>meaningless
brainlet

Pretty sure 33 is C not B. I have always found those puzzles to be fun. I am better at number pattern puzzles than picture patterns.

my IQ is unironically 150+

lmao at Mensa esteemlets

At least they have a group they can socialize with. Enjoy your high self-esteem while squatting alone.

Actually intelligent people (top 1% at the very least) will be involved in local academia/high-tier industry and won't need the total crutch that is Mensa to make themselves feel better

Mensa membership provides no benefits nor investment and business building opportunity. You'd be better off joining either a local masonic lodge or a similar society. You tend to make better face to face connections and can build a more lucrative network that way.

Not really.
I went to a meeting once and it was full of guys who were easily twenty years my senior.
Also, we had basically nothing in common except that we all did well on the test.

socialising with people who emit at same wavelength is valuable in itself. This might produce business opportunities due to idea slinging or making friends with some person that complements your as a startup owner.

Hot if true

My brother scored above the ceiling for mensa... He's the most incelest person I've ever met.

99% with IQ 168 at age of 18. It's actually a quite nice thing to mention in your CV. Also, most members are engineers and math persons, not the best relationship targets imho.

>not in the Giga Society
will never make it
