The mere existence of Cuba triggered the ameritards since the 19th century, when mutts decided they should become the very thing they fought. They tried to subvert Cuba, and initially succeeded by helping a few criollo rebel. But that wasn't enough so they orchestrated their first false flag, sinking their own boat and killing their own people. I honestly think this event marks the moment the United States officially became an evil nation. After winning the "war" against Spain and stealing its rightful ultramarine posession, they attempted to finally vassalize Cuba, but they failed. They actually failed miserably a number of time. Imagine that, a massive nation against an island country. To this day American politicians seethe at the idea of a neighboring country enjoying its full sovereignty.

I don't think anyone has really given a shit about Cuba since the 80s.

PR has one of three options. You may:

1. Continue existing as a US territory. You don't get any electoral participation or Congressmen, but you can get unlimited free gibes with no taxes.
2. Become a state. Get Congressional seats and get to vote for president. Lose gibes and have to pay Federal taxes.
3. Become an independent nation and turn into Haiti in 5 years

Guess what has consistently proven the best option.
