This doesn't work in the modern world because of how disconnected we are with our communities. Back in the "olden days" 30 year old men didn't go around banging random 15 year olds. Men weren't allowed anywhere near the girls until they proved that they were going to provide, and gained the blessing of her parents. They had to be well-known and respected members of the community, usually family friends or something of that nature.

Very different situation today. The stigma surrounding older men being with teenage girls is completely rational and justified, as this usually entails predators seeking out naive and vulnerable girls to indulge in their hedonistic desires.
