Your country isn't even 500 years old, the majority shares the same language (english) and religion (christian), you have two relevant political parties which means there's little political dissidence to one party or the other, you have a very small pool of culture, customs or arts you've invented yourself.
You had many voluntary and involuntary immigrants which largely disregarded their old customs (blacks practically forgot their customs or merged it into Jazz and Gospel, european splinter groups from Germany, nordic countries and Britain were homogenized into one indistinguishable group where only small traditionalist like the Armish survived culturally

My point is that the US may be diverse in skin color but hardly in culture. In China there are 18 distinctively large ethnic groups, most of them distinguishable by traditions, customs and even language. In Indonesia there are even more.
Europe has far more ethnic variety than the US yet every EU member manages to have a halfway functioning healthcare system.
