The point is the explanations as to why those things are important, which makes the difference for people attempting to sort themselves out.
the point is he's the same as malcom gladwell in that he's found a way to make money by regurgitating common sense advice; but he delivers it in a way in which brainlets get all fuzzy by his delivery system (i.e. vocabulary, tone, etc.) and think he's touching on something new.
This guy lost me for good when i saw him on his most recent rogan show. He is clearly disturbed and not someone who people should be looking to for guidance. Eating a diet of literally nothing except beef? That's just bizarre I don't care what anyone says.
What is disturbing is that he clearly uses a lot of skin cream. He's an extremely thin and twitchy old man who is obsessed with keeping his skin youthful, it's no surprise he also comes up with weird and desperate diet attempts to retain youth. His big problem is that he was a loser all his life, and only in the last years has he stumbled onto something that works. But he is aging fast and not able to appreciate it, I'm predicting he will have a lol meltdown shortly.

He clearly stated multiple times that it is not advisable and he is only doing this due to his daughter and there is no scientifical evidence to support that it would work.

It's really not. It's the strongest determinate. You can kill yourself more quickly through environmental extremes, but you're not going to add any significant amount of time to your life.

It is. Blue zones are just one interesting example of MANY of environmental/lifestyle factors increasing longevity.
From what I gather, Jordan Peterson appeals to lonely guys who are probably largely afraid to talk to women, play lots of video games, and are largely unemployed. You’re probably not his target demographic.

The problem is that the fuckwits doing nutritional science the last 50 years have been on a misguided crusade against saturated fat so there hasn't been much if any research done on a pure meat (high saturated fat) diet, much in the same way that since Marijuana became a scheduled drug it made it difficult to research its effects through traditional means.
An all meat diet has many similar properties to a low carb or ketogenic diet, however, and there's a lot of newer science coming out that those are actually quite effective at promoting health and curing chronic disease.
We're fucking meat eaters from a biology standpoint, we traded the big gut structures you need to process a non-meat diet for bigger brains so we could kill shit.

They're also genetically isolated areas. You can argue their lifestyle has led to increased longevity due to many generations of genetic modification, but that's as far as you can go. If you were to take an American who's family has an average lifespan of 75 years old and have that person spend the majority of his/her life in Okinawa Japan, I doubt that person will live into his/her late 90's. We already know that your odds of getting many cancers and diseases are heavily affected by your genetics.
You can't take a genetically homogeneous and isolated population and claim that their longevity is mainly due to their lifestyle.

Well yea, because that is a huge percentage increase. They’ve done studies of non natives in these regions and natives moving to other areas (especially Sardinians between the US and Sardinia). Increased longevity in Sardinia even in non natives, decreased life expectancy of Sardinians living in NYC.
Those are still humans. The difference aren't that huge to consider the thing you describe as a major factor, even if it can contribute a wee bit.

Just because humans can survive on meat alone, doesn’t mean they should. I doubt you’d feel particularly great doing it anyway.
Also, “there might be a reduction in immune response from an all meat diet.” There also might not be. The nature of “autoimmune disease” is extremely nebulous. My girlfriend suffers from some undiagnosable condition with symptomolagy of autoimmune disorders. Eating a ketogenic diet doesn’t help her and actually exacerbates the way she feels.

I started the carnivore diet like 1.5 weeks ago. I did a blood test beforehand so I could compare how it will be later. So far I'm feeling awesome and I enjoy eating meat more and more.

The food pyramid is responsible for the core beliefs of our doctors/scientists/nutritionists/health teachers etc, kind of like how if you argue with a christian they may not mention the bible but all the knowledge they have is derived from the bible at some level whether directly or indirectly.
I've been doing low carb/ketogenic type meals for around 2 years on and off and for me it has had huge benefits on energy/mental clarity/fitness etc. Some people with certain ancestries (example: northern europeans) who were late to adopt agriculture (and the carb based diet that goes with farming wheat) do much better cutting out the carbs. We aren't well adapted to them compared to races who have had agriculture for a long time (Mediterraneans and asians).
It is not a cure-all but if you are the kind of person who easily gains weight and experiences lethargy/mental fog on the Standard American Diet (SAD) you might do a lot better eating more meat and fats and cutting the grains/sugars.
