Roy Disney was Walt Disney's Brother, and took over as President of the Disney company when he died. At the time, the initial phase of Disney World in Florida (pic) was at the very beginning of construction, and Roy is credited with keeping things on track to make sure his late brother's vision was realized. He immediately retired after he opened Magic Kingdom, and then he himself died two months later.

Not a monument but we do have a giant statue of Vulcan in my home city.
Vincente Martinez Ybor brought his cigar-making business to Tampa, Florida from Key West (and Cuba before that) in the mid-1880s after the first rail line was built there (at the time, this was as far south that railroads went in the state, and they would not reach Miami until the following decade). He correctly figured that moving his operation to a place with rail access would boost business, caused an explosion of growth in the city, and made the city what it is today (the center of the 2nd-largest metro area in Florida today). Tampa is still sometimes referred to as "Cigar City".
>Was also governor of Tennessee
Is that because all his exes lived in Texas?
