The people in control of BTC are willing to pump it in order to keep it alive. In doing so they will lift the whole market, which I am thankful for.
But there is an issue, and it is that BTC cannot handle being at a high value without the transaction fees blowing up.

The insanely rich bitcoin whales will never let it go. They'll try to keep their dying unusable shitcoin alive as long as possible. For a lot of them getting lucky with bitcoin is the only reason their rich and they'll shill their useless shitcoin till the bitter end. Someone like Tone Vays is a good example.

Brand power will only matter in the short term. Sooner or later the wealth of technology and innovation behind BCH will move it past BTC. At that point the branding will become BTC's worst enemy.
