They have a horrible mentality, they don't give a fuck about anything other than themselves and their blood relatives. Everyone else is expendable trash to them. They will kill you for fun if they know they'll get away with it.

The biggest problem is getting away with denying their children even the most basic education. There's little the state can do if they pull their children out of school at age 10 so they can use them to beg or steal.

There is some unwillingness to integrate them, but it is somewhat justified by fear. They will hurt you. It's a sad state of things but there's no easy way out of it.

Also keep in mind many gypsies do integrate. Of course you can't even tell they were gypsies after a generation or 2, they're just some dark-looking people from down the street. So it's not like they're trapped forever.
