the only thing it has going for is that pvp mechanics improved (although it still has a horrendous netcode nonetheless so teleporting players are expected), other than that it's worse than the first one in every regard including somehow graphics for most of the game. also for some reason they fucked up the movesets of nearly every weapon which pissed off a lot of people.

also the bosses were REALLY boring and a lot of them were just dudes in armor with uninteresting movement patterns while other bosses were criminally lazy like the rat swarm or the congregation that they called a boss for whatever reason. only the dlc had any fun fights.

Get the season pass. Ashes of Ariandel is pretty lukewarm, but Ringed City is one of the greatest DLCs ever made.
When you’re done with that go to Bloodborne.

Also, play them in that order:
Ashes->Ringed City
They’re connected to each other in terms of story so this is very important.

It's a game, a leisure activity. Even if the theme is grim and scary (DSII fails in that regard as well) it should still be fun to play.

Every part of the game is hideous, especially the background parts, but iron passage is especially hilarious to me because the walls look like pure rubber.

DS2 has so many cancer areas is not even funny. The strangest thing about it they actually felt much better than basic circle-like maps ds3 has. DS2 is definitely the weird one in the series but it's also the only game where it was obvious that developers wanted to experiment
