All this Orwellian nonsense I see from the UK is fake, right Britbongs? I refuse to believe any of this blatant dystopian imagery is real.

honestly the worst part is that it all looks gay as fuck.
in movies and shit the government always has cool nazi or soviet aesthetics
That's a Banksy
you don't want the populace to remember how the heroes on those movies are the ones to rise against the very obvious propagandistic state
>Banksy
It's fake. Some pranksters altered a real mural. This pic was from last year I think.
lol the angloid is so terrified of his inevitable future.
Not saying I like the guy. But what you posted obviously isn't government-sponsored, just like pic related.
The UK definitely is becoming more and more of an Orwellian society though. They even have to verify their identity to watch porn on the internet these days. Or buy a porn license.
Not OP but I know, I just feel like violently beating someone up whenever I hear his name mentioned
That is fake but most of the population and the two main parties are broadly supportive of authoritarian measures. The attitude of "nothing to high, nothing to fear" is endemic here, speaking out against laws that violate privacy makes people imply that you're up to something dodgy or are a nonce. We're fucked long term but it isn't as bad as the Jow Forums memes yet
Luckily the government is a bit too incompetent to unleqsh the 1984 they dream of
pretty much this, it's bad. But as with all things, Jow Forums doesn't have a clue what they're talking about. Much of it comes under the 'think of the children' shit mosly pushed by conservative boomers, can't wait for those fucks to die out
Why are brits fine with this? Seems a bit out of character from them.
if you tried to introduce any of that nanny state shit here, people would go out on the streets, the idea that your government knows best how you should live your life should be offensive to people. how can brits put up with it?
What can they actually do. Burn some cars down, throw a hissy fit, they're still gonna do what they want
Its mostly old boomers 'thinking of the children'. Also people are scared of le terrorism and le computers.
Most people dont use the critical faculties of their minds here. The newspapers of the masses reported assange's arrest as sort of justified by the fact that he has a bit of an obnoxious personality.
So people not knowing any better will think 'good that that assange is arrested he was such a narcissist look at him smiling smugly, i trust the police and the newspapers not this smug man'
Heres another example
SMELLY MAN GO JAIL!!!
Has England always been this way? It's pretty odd that England isn't as privacy-conscious as other European countries. I'm guessing that maybe World War 2 might have played a role in these authoritarian tendencies?
that one is fake

Dunno i waant alive then.
I dont think the 'rights of englishmen' are taken as seriously here as in the USA.
>something I don't like is happening
>"is Uhrveliun!"
it shouldn't take violence to change things in a civilized country, even in romania you have those huge protests against corruption, and there are no chimp-outs, people just go out on the streets to voice their dissatisfaction, and things actually happen when there's enough momentum behind it
in poland even private companies get publicly shamed on social media for having bad quality of service, or put unhealthy ingredients in food, or don't plant enough trees as part of their development projects, and it actually works in many cases
it seems like there's so much apathy in the west these days, people just want the government to think for them, god forbid if you actually have to make a decision for yourself, or voice a difference of opinion publicly
maybe you do need communism or some other gay ideology to fuck your shit up before you can see for yourself where this path ends
It seems that british people aren't as inclined as other europeans to go the streets to voice their opposition, I think historically there's been a "the state knows best" attitude and that people are expected to just carry along with the government's decisions. Basically mass apathy. I'm not an expert tho, these are just my impressions.
I think youre describing middle england, the election winning part of england
I don't think the UK can be as bad as this. I mean look at that its obviously a dig at the conservative nanny state. And all the headlines because Britain has the worst media probably in the world and everybody sees it and thinks its real.
Why do you hate being safe?
voicing your opinion does nothing though, like I said they still will do what they want. Look at how many protests and even riots have happened in America, none of them ever did anything
is this real?
What would you call security cameras fucking everywhere?
>colleagues are talkijg about all the smart gadgets theyre buying
>older one says i dont buy this stuff theyre spying on us
>everyone collectively dismisses him
>mfw
>i chime in and say he's right, start talking about how i block trackers and ads and saying how spooky internet tracking is
>another colleague starts saying 'but i want good ads, so im happy to be tracked to get good ads'
People dont care. They also think caring is weird. They think being spied on and tracked is not only benign but beneficial.
>good ads
Oxymoron
>Other demographic personas associated with Middle England include "Mondeo Man" (a term attributed to Tony Blair which describes a middle-class floating voter who owns a Ford Mondeo); "Worcester woman" (a provincial voter with little actual political awareness); "Essex Man" (an aspirational lower-middle-class voter from Essex); and "Pebbledash people" (a term coined by ICM Research to describe married white collar couples who live in semi-detached houses covered in pebbledash).
Interesting stuff. So the personification of middle england would be a Dolores Umbridge type of character?
He gave an example of finding out about a concert without having to look for it and instead having it presented to him
I said that, on the internet where they can track every single aspect of your life that amounts to malign manipulation but he couldnt see that because 'i would have wanted to go that concert had i known'
It is sheer manipulation and brainwashing but people, even those who think about it critically, think its a good thing.
He asked me what i would like to buy (because i block ads/trackers) and i said nothing besides groceries which i buy regardless of whether they are on offer.
I guess that's just where you end up with rampant consumerism.
I also block and avoids ads as much as I can, and I happen to be very happy with what I have, never really buying much more than I actually need. Might be some correlation?
It's an interesting topic to be honest.
>i want good ads
Why do so many people say this retarded shit
I started blocking ads when I was like 11, simply because I found popups annoying, long before I even knew about all this tracking shit. It genuinely blew my mind to learn that there are many young people that don't bother blocking them.
Lol my immigrant housemates used to watch tv off their computers. We used to get warning letters from these runts but none of us were ever in when they threatened to come
Boomers literally pay in terms of electricity and time watching the same fucking ads on loop on TV all fucking day.
I can hardly stand visiting my parents anymore and the fucking ads with shitty country music for fake charities or insurance ponzi schemes.
We must dissent.
At least that makes more sense because there's entertainment for 4 minutes in between them
People that say they want good ads are literally just saying "I want this company to spam my computer screen to take money from me that I wouldn't blow otherwise"
Like 90% of security cameras are privately owned.
Entertainment? Maybe if they paid premium lol
It's all fucking reruns which cost next to nothing to air and even the premium is still just peak jewcraft and scripted shit. Then there's the news and channels even that are just showing content from twitter or youtube with some commentary.
>All this Orwellian nonsense I see from the UK is fake, right Britbongs?
>is this real?
>What would you call security cameras fucking everywhere?
those are fake adverts put up by some proto banksy you utter brainlet
This isn't real
It says stuff like "I won't eat smelly food" , "I won't play music out loud"
This is real
Canada is in five eyes, you'll get spied on as much
Is it supposed to make me feel nervous? It sure as hell isn't reassuring.
>Is it supposed to make me feel nervous? It sure as hell isn't reassuring.
The british government knows that its subjects are insects undeserving of privacy. If their own government doesn't respect them, then why should I?
Think it's more a case of never having been occupied by a foreign power in recent times. Which, I think, has let to a general view that whatever the government does is right, since the government never has been really oppressive to such a degree that it warranted rebellion. This all mixed together with having an empire less than 100 years ago.
Compared to mainland Europe, I think we're more sceptic towards government given occupation and dubious (occupying) governments. I'm mainly just grasping at shit so don't take it all too serious.
Ever wondered why muggles were so uncharitably portrayed in the Harry Potter books and movies? That's just what the British are like. They're a nation of braindead tea-drinking, biscuit-eating NPCs. Think about it. All the ambitious people left for America. All the lawless, free-spirited people were sent to Australia. All the flaming faggots went to Canada. What's left is just an undifferentiated mass of inbred cattle with no agency. People walking around, going, "Oh, look! 3 for the price of 2!", "You have to come over for a cuppa tea, I'll show you the new boiler we got", "Bit chilly today, innit?"
What an absolute hell on Earth, no wonder they constantly escape into fantasy and absurd humor, it's the only way to survive there
"Keep calm and carry on"? Yeah, a nice way for a nation full of people who don't know what the fuck to do about themselves to turn apathy into a virtue
>in america
There's your problem.
>it shouldn't take violence to change things in a civilized country
LMAO
The Oligarchs will stay in power, that is the point of democracy, in the end all parties are the exact same and it won't make a meaningful difference who is in power and who isn't, except people FEEL change is possible every time they cast a vote.
>things actually happen when there's enough momentum behind it
No, they don't. Things change when the political class is replaced from the bottom up, but no "protest movement" will do that.
>even private companies
They, at least to some extent, depend on the good will of the voter. But in a democracy that simply isn't the case, if the ruling party will fuck off, some people will take the fall and a "new" party replaces them, which claims to oppose them, but really doesn't.
I hope this is pasta cause otherwise that's a dumb, shallow and juvenile analysis
You must be 18 or over to post here

Looks to me like the West is way more fucked than we are, at least things are getting better here every year. Don't you think this has to do with your rampant levels of degeneracy more than anything else? I remember listening to leaked tapes of Morawiecki (our PM), he said something about the (((banks))) and other institutions in Western European countries and their deep armchairs, saying they're making a mistake by not sharing their gains with the rest of society, that it's not going to end well as history has shown many times
Leave it to the fucking frogs to take everything literally
>and their deep armchairs
Not sure if this works in English, he meant how filthy rich and comfy they are
Damn, I didn't know Poles were this based
>Don't you think this has to do with your rampant levels of degeneracy more than anything else?
I mean, sure, that certainly is part of it. But for me that seems to be mostly about keeping the people happy, giving in to basically every social demand voiced by anyone, instead of actually figuring out the hard problems about how to improve people's lives.
>they're making a mistake by not sharing their gains with the rest of society
Yeah, I think that is pretty much it. The meme by the politicians is that this is "the best Germany that ever existed", which might certainly be true from there perspective, but not from any person having been to the less prestigious parts of the major cities, where things have been getting worse, even in the time that I was there to see it. Aside from other insanities, such as Germany having a substantially lower median net worth then even Greece.
very VERY good thread, love you all
>Poland moaning about a foreign government being authoritarian
hmmm
Why would it seem out of character?
Britain has never been known for revolutions. The average person in this shithole is a pleb of the highest order; so long as they have alcohol, drugs and fast food, they're happy.
pretty sure the picture you posted is real but it's """ironic""""
I did a line of coke in a road in London and then noticed the cameras. Went back to the pub and, after some time, a car with something like "cctv police" written on it arrived. Lmao pretty scary
We're only now being depicted as authoritarian by the foreign media because the current government doesn't act in line with (((their))) agenda. Those same people said nothing when the previous government was selling us out and doing all sorts of shady stuff. We can't simply have disagreement about how to run things, those people accept no differences of opinion, because it's like we're challenging their entire worldview from their perspective, so they have to paint us as the bad guys.
> it isn't as bad as the Jow Forums memes yet
>1984 surveillance state
>Education in shambles
>Foreign ghetto's and jihadist breeding nests all over the place
>Had hundreds of legalized ISIS marches in several cities circa 2014-2017 which were censored and memoryholed
ok then
>restating Jow Forums memes mean that they're true
ah yes and all white women want the BBC
Any source on these isis marches? I don't belive people wouldn't beat the shit out of them in public with or without police there
Thats only in Anglo countries the case because you never experienced a dictatorship first-hand and suck happily government cock. ON the contrary, in former soviet states the people are red pilled about this.
The thing is that boomers on both sides of the political spectrum support it purely because of "muh children"
