Is it really that bad as what people say on Jow Forums
>republictugal
I can claim Portugal's throne
I'm busy. check with my assistant.
>lazytugal
no, we don't have any legitimate claimants left alive and if the monarchy were ever restored I'd restore the Iberian Union rather than let a Brazilian monkey or a Miguelist traitor sit on the throne of Portugal
its actually a lot worse
No need. Once they get Brazil back they can just conquer Poortugal in a day
>Miguelist traitor
Who?
it's not that bad actually, the UN peacekeepers have keep the militias out of my village most of the time and the well is only 5km away from my house
>>Brazil's royal family descends from the House of Aviz
Wat? No.
Brazilian royal Family are Braganças and Habsbourgs
the current "claimants" were banned from ever inheriting the throne in 1834 because they're descendants from rogue prince D. Miguel who tried to abolish the constitutional monarchy and become absolute monarch during the Portuguese Civil War

The Bragancas where a cadet branch iirc but that's as far as I know
Why?
Why did he try to turn Portugal into a Absolute Monarchy?

The Brazilian Imperial Family is a branch of the Portuguese Royal House of Braganza that ruled the Empire of Brazil from 1822 to 1889, after the proclamation of independence by Prince Pedro of Braganza who was later acclaimed as Pedro I, Constitutional Emperor and Perpetual Defender of Brazil. The members of the family are dynastic descendants of Emperor Pedro I. Claimants to headship of the post-monarchic Brazilian Imperial legacy descend from Emperor Pedro II, including the senior agnates of two branches of the House of Orléans-Braganza; the so-called Petrópolis and Vassouras lines.[1] Prince Pedro Carlos of Orléans-Braganza (born 1945) heads the Petrópolis line, while the Vassouras branch is led by his second cousin, Prince Luiz of Orléans-Braganza.[2]
greed and lust for power
Do monarchic movements exist in Portugal the same way there are Monarchists in Brazil now?
>Why did he try to turn Portugal into a Absolute Monarchy?
Because it is BASED.
we have a irrelevant monarchist party but they might get decent numbers come the EU elections because they got in bed with the Populists
When will Brazil annex Portugal?
If was for the monarchy to come back in Portugal, yes they could claim the Portuguese throne. Although it's very unlikely for Brazil or Portugal to come back to a monarchy, it's already a cuck thing to have a monarchy in country that had it as tradition here in Brazil is even more.
There was a period in history where Dom Pedro 1 gave up his rights to became the Emperor of Brazil to his son Dom Pedro 2 and went to wage war for the Portuguese throne, but I studied this a long time ago that i don't recall how it end up.
Who knows really
There might have been a world where Brazil became the US of South America but under a constitutional monarchy and it might have gone toe to toe and become an influential nation
In that parallel world i died in a civil war against the Brazilian monarchy.
