It used to be a thriving, beautiful region in Yugoslavia, sad to see what's happened to it since then.

poverty and drug

how does it compare economically to the rest of the Balkans? does it have tons of people fleeing to the EU for work and all that?

bump

...

It's a great tourist destination for drug escapades

bump

Eh it's alright, nothing in particular happens here.

what does the average Albanian think of Kosovo? do they want the two territories to unite?

What's there to think about? We're basically the same people but divided politically. Kosovars won't suddenly try to create a new identity to feel different from us. And yes, unification is and will remain the main goal.

>We're basically the same people

you're not even the same people within Albania, not to mention Kosovars.

Oh no, people speak different dialects of the same language, the horror!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albanian_Civil_War

What does a vote fraud war have to do with dialects?

>In 2000, the then-US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said that the international community would not tolerate any efforts towards the creation of a Greater Albania.[80]

>he thinks we care about what the US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said

stop pretending that conflict wasn't about Ghegs and Tosks trying to seize power

Serbs are still watching though

1) There was no political difference between Ghegs and Tosks for one to assume power over the other. The ghegs see themselves no different from the tosks, the conflict was political and economical, hardly dialectic at all.

2) We don't care about what Serbs think

>There was no political difference between Ghegs and Tosks for one to assume power over the other

>One of the main themes of Western media and analysts during the March riots was the north-south division. Various newspapers and TV stations claimed that the rebellion was not just a showdown between the two main political forces but a clash between the northerners (Ghegs) who supported Berisha and southerners (Tosks) who supported the Socialist Party.

>2) We don't care about what Serbs think

But if America doesn't protect you you won't have a chance against the Serbian army.

You have the answer there for yourself, "Western media and analysts", they see ethnic conflict as the only kind of conflict in the Balkans.

Point is, there is absolutely no visible difference between ghegs and tosks, you cannot tell them apart. The only thing that makes the difference clear is the dialect spoken.

The serbian army still uses the same rusty Zastava AK's their parents used during the yugoslav wars.

>You have the answer there for yourself, "Western media and analysts", they see ethnic conflict as the only kind of conflict in the Balkans.

You're really short-sighted and narrow-minded if you think there are no experts on the Balkans in the west.

>there is absolutely no visible difference between ghegs and tosks, you cannot tell them apart

Just like there's no difference between Serbs and Croats yet it didn't stop them from slaughtering each other.

>The serbian army still uses the same rusty Zastava AK's their parents used during the yugoslav wars.

Tell us about the Albanian nuclear bomb then.

The differences between Croats and Serbs are enormous, they're nothing to scoff at, the differences between ghegs and tosks are negligible.

>Albanian expert on Yugoslavia

dob gheg :-DD

Best part of my visit to the Balkans was Kosovo. People were super friendly and helpful. Spent some time in a tiny village in Dragaš and it was very interesting.

For some reason, Kosovans are always so nice >_

Well there's a shitton of crime. It's sad to see what happened to a Serbian Province.

please do tell me what differences there are between ghegs and tosks

post-ottoman misery

Tosks: commies, intelligent, educated, short but more handsome

Ghegs: tall, strong, uneducated, stupid, anti-commies

Those are no differences, you're generalizing a lot of people. I have met commie ghegs and anti commie tosks, i've also met tosks that are above 2m and ghegs that are below 1.60. your dialect has no real life bearing on your status whatsoever, but i assume things being simple and straightforward is such a weird concept to you.

>Those are no differences

so by this logic there are no differences between Poles and Italians because there are some Poles shorter and darker than some Italians and the other way around

we're talking about an average person of course.

Albanians.

Exactly, you finally understand don't you? There are no physical or psychological differences between Gheg and tosk, It's merely dialectical.

>There are no physical or psychological differences between Gheg and tosk, It's merely dialectical.

as I said, there are no such differences between Serbs and Croats either

Oh no, there quite is, the difference between Croats and Serbs is enormous.

I hear Kosovo is a Muslim majority county, but its Islam Lite. Like when Ramadan rolls around the restaurants during lunchtime are still full

sounds comfy

sounds haram

so the difference between serbs and croats is smaller than the difference between poles and Italians?
Please educate me more on the south slavic unity my friend.

>how does it compare economically to the rest of the Balkans?
Bosnia, Serbia, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Albania are similar, almost the same.

one is orthodox the other is catholic and tried to genocide the other

Kill yourself, you fucking faggot and stop larping as a serb.
