holy shit dude i literally was just so curious about moldova, read about it for like 20 mins and then opened up Jow Forums and saw this. literally.

basically, it's been a country with a rich history for a long long long time, but got absolute shit on by every single empire at the time, the polish, the ottomans, the ussr, etc..

now finally they're free and indie but they have literally no infrastructure, economy, hope, and the politicians are absolute crooks

despite moldova's small size, a disproportianite (tired not gonna fix) amount of girls found from east europe sex trafficiking are from moldova

checking my own dubs but also i just wanted to reallly stress that its mostly the politicians there. it's one of the most politically corrupt places in the world. it's the only 'soviet' state truly, and transinitria, a state within it, is so fucking far backwards its horrifying lol. it's like the moldova of moldova. their flag is literally still a hammer & sickle

anyway, moldova had like a billion dollars just literally disappear/vanish/get """stolen""" from the gov't budget a few years ago, it was huge. shit like that happens. idk, place is fucked, it's really sad

and to answer your questions, i mean, idk i can't speak for them as a people, i'm not moldovan, but i would imagine it's very hard to feel hopeful about your future there. i wonder what kind of geniuses are there just living in poverty but could've been the next elon musk. maybe not many, but certainly a few. or literary geniuses. but they're stuck in basically africa-level shit. it's so disconnected from the world. even if you were famous in moldova it's like, that means nothing in the world. it's just so obscure
