Did you go to/are you currently in college?
What did you study?
How was it?

yes
started pharmacy three weeks ago
seems like a fuckton to learn, I'm a retard, why did I pick it if I'm actually lazy and not talented in STEM
I'm considering becoming a government official instead or joining the army
don't know what I want to study 2bh
I did really well in high school so i have every option open but I don't feel motivated one bit
can't you change it?
how old are you?
Flag
No, I can't afford it
Want to study geology, sports psychology, literature, or IT
>how old are you?
19
Yeah, electrical engineering
First two years pretty hard, then the last two years moderate
Around 120 people started, 35 finished. Also engineers/software guys are shat on in this country
>can't you change it?
yes I can but I already dropped out once after just a week because I'm a bit of a sperg and I don't wanna do it again, especially not without knowing what to do instead
I'm in the exact same boat
did you already start something or what are you doing?
I'm currently in college studying music.
At the moment I'm having issues with executive function, anxiety, existential dread, depression, weight issues, possible sleep apnea, and bitterness.
are you poor? you can get grant
I'm 38 and I'm working out my two weeks notice at my job, moving in with my girlfriend, and going back to school to finish a bachelor's.

Yes, studied EE. But worked as a full stack dev. Make waifubait video games now.
Don’t join CS or IT, fools. Watch programming tutorials for FREE on YouTube if you don’t want to pay for courses.
Good luck, mister. Don’t let age differences in class bum you out.
I remember talking to you before I think
I studied maritime engineering last year but I dropped out after a few months because I realized I don't care at all about engineering
I dropped in the first year
I couldn't stand my teachers or my colleagues and I wasn't super interested in the subject
I know I fucked up my future, but I don't care cause I'm probably gonna kill myself soon
Yes. And no, I can't. Poor people are often dumb.
so are you a NEET now?
Thanks friend. It'll be a little depressing, I'm sure, but better late than never.
what does that have to do with gran? if you are a resident of the us and working on your first bachelors you can get grant, just don't sign up for private colleges, they might not accept it
I am 31 and doing bachelors, stem is full of older people it's fine
almost
I earn some money from tutoring high school kids but I don't make many hours
Deadline for uni application is tomorrow and I still feel like I have no direction in life because I can't be arsed to find one study and stick to it.
Go for CS if you want a degree that bad. It’s the bottom tier college degree for people with no motivation or aim in life.
You can pass your exams by watching courses online.
maybe trade school?
I was good in highschool too, among the best actually, everybody thought I'd become successful
now it's two years later and I still don't know what to do, essentially wasted the time since school
and I'm not sure I have the motivation to succeed at the degree I just started
a guy from my highschool class told me he wanted to become a traindriver after hs, back then I thought he's stupid because he's wasting his potential, but he's probably got a decent paying relaxed job for some time already while I have nothing
Says you. I thought programming was hard as fuck. Maybe I'm just a brainlet but while I thought all the logic was really neat, I got stuck constantly trying to write shit.

Graduating with bachelors in electrical engineering this December. It wasnt that hard but it was boring for me, only went into EE because it seemed cool and knew I wanted to do stem, but wish I had done physics instead. By the end of it now I realize that I hate 90%+ of EE from coding to circuits, embedded systems, etc it is all just boring to me. Luckily I found a part I like in the optics/photonics/lasers part of it and plan to go to grad school for that in 2020. Physics bachelors could have gotten me to the same point but would have been less credit hours and more interesting, while also giving me more credits to learn a language on the side
also thought RF/antenna area was cool
2nd semester of law school
I find the dogmatic aspect really boring desu. it is making me reconsider the area I want to work in
in american schools you need to be able to do on spot programming bug finding and reporting without an aid, ie, for my exam i get a chunk of code that has been edited with mistakes and i need to find the type of errors it would make, how to fix it, and write additional code to supplement what it is intended to do, all by hand, in java and not pseudo code, this is something you gain from repeated exposure to doing a lot of exercise and not "watching courses online"
>No, I can't afford it
*Laughs in getting payed to study*
Hmm I've considered it but I feel like I would be wasting potential and should be ashamed of that for some reason
also I don't really need more options, if anything I need fewer. Part of the reason I find it difficult to choose is because I have a superficial interest in a lot of fields
Yes but no classes currently
Studying CS but can't even bring myself to program for fun so don't know if it's a good idea
Different school system. After grade/high school we go to vocational/gymnasium, followed by vocational uni(UAS)/university.
I have a vocational school degree in information technology. Was comfy, planning on applying to UAS for B(S)BA.
>I find it difficult to choose is because I have a superficial interest in a lot of fields
exactly the same for me.
I like the humanities and always been good at it without much effort, I started law last year but dropped out quickly because I panicked over the new social situation, told everyone that the degree wasn't for me so it wouldn't be as embarrassing
I'm also interested in medicine/pharmacy (which is what I'm doing now), but STEM isn't nearly as easy for me and I'll have to work much harder if I wanna succeed
so my advice for you would be to pick what's easy for you, because you sound similar to me
English
Idk, I just hate college in general, especially because I'm doing general eds right now
It's such bullshit, fuck the professors, fuck the students
i hate classes where you have to participate. Shut the fuck up professor, I'm not helping you work through the math problem, just do it and explain it. "I then subtract 5 which gives me..........", followed by a 20 second silence cause no one wants to participate cause this isn't fucking middles school
Alright thanks for the advice and conversation about this bro, it feels good and worthwhile to put this shit into words. What did you study before? I'm most likely going to do something like history or philosophy because I'm actually interested and pretty wel read on both but then I will have to deal with the poor job prospects for the rest of the time
get off the fucking phone you idiot, if you don't want to be there leave
Learning EE is useless unless you follow up with a masters, my man. They hire people with diplomas for former EE positions. The absolute state of EE graduates lel Has to be the most overrated branch of engineering since most people end up jobless and deprived of life force by the time they’re done.
Laugh all you want Sven I just might apply for refugee status and move there

currently in education but rarely go to the lectures
compsci in state uni for free
shit, all programming assignments are pure boilerplate bullshit that is literally checked with a script, a single letter off from the expected input and you get a fucking 0

4. Shit. Waste of time, 8 fucking years wasted and my degree doesn't mean shit. There's no employement and i hate it. If i wanted to live i'd have to specialize for another 3-6 years, or compete with pajeets for a job in the US.
Guess my best chance is to set a patreon and draw porn on the net.
Wont work unless you are arab or somali tho
I tried to go to community college 3 times online and I always fell behind on my work and dropped my classes. After that third one I was kicked out of the school and lost financial aid.
Now working in an Amazon warehouse and they'll pay the cost of whatever degree program I want as long as it's not unemployable. I keep saying I'm going to apply any day now.
Yeah that's the normal with early programming assignments. They want to weed people out who are t detail oriented.
Also started beginners on graphics is a bitch.
going physically helped me when i went back to school
well I'm going to be weeded out then because the fucking TA apparently uses windows and all his line endings have an extra character
also I feel physical fucking pain when I have to write boilerplate code, it literally takes 2 lines in Spring for fucks sake.
as I wrote I began law for a very short time (one week then I dropped out, couple of circumstances played into that dumb decision)
the year before that I did 7 months military, 2 months civilian working, and the rest NEETing
good luck to you, I think if you study something that truly interests you it's better
as long as you can somehow get a job with it (I think you can, might not earn a ton but still..)
21 y/o here, dropped out of highschool and started where I left this year, 2 years left.
I want to be an accountant.

Yes, I currently attend university
I study History and Economics
It is good
