I'm 25 and still live with my parents, most of the expenses are covered by my parents, in the last 6 years i managed to save more than €60'000.

I live near Rome and already found a decent size apartment for €105000 (considering the market condition, I can make them cut the price. Maybe -5% to -7%).
If my relationship gets serious, my fiancèe will cover the rest of the amount and we'll live rent free and loan free maybe for the rest of our life.
Worst case scenario: I'll pay a small loan of €150/month.

It's a mix of economic situation, buying versus renting culture, multi-generational household culture and family expectations.

For example, I'm too poor to buy a house before 28. In Croatia nobody rents unless it's the only option, rather waiting a few more years to buy a house/flat. Some people chose to live in houses with other generations of family, but I can't since we're scattered over multiple towns. My family always provided for me and when I move out they won't expect me to pay anything back like the Scandinavians tend to do, instead there's an implicit understanding that they're paying their own parents off by raising me and why I won't expect my kids to pay back me for raising them.

Im an international trucker, i come home for a few days a month to see my family so there is no reason to have my own place since i dont have a family of my own. I save 95% of my money. I save about 30k per year. A commie apartment here is around 80k or even cheaper if in a small city. Alot of my money also goes towards stocks.
Im not saying the reason southerners reason to stay home until 30 is because of financial smarts, but its a very valid reason if you arent a retard and want to retire early

I had a Czech gf and she couldnt afford shit. Even with their lower cost of living (hur dur beer is only 1$) they still make so little money. I think a decent job there was about 25,000Cad/yr gross so 20k after tax and rent and all that is still 500 Cad/mo so they save maybe 5k/yr CAD which is really nothing in the greater perspective.
