Think about this. ATT will not be going anywhere for a long time.
With 5G coming out soon, I'd say invest in ATT now, they'll only grow from here. I work doing telephone and fiber optic shit and I deal with ATT blokes all the time, they all enjoy working there, say things are pretty smooth
Benjamin Williams
That picture is hilarious and sadly accurate

Sorry. At least you'll know the smell of the guy after you kiss her. You can hunt him down.
>TFW your company mysteriously goes belly up and you get called in to be told that the company is being sold to a holding company and all assets liquidated. As such, you need to turn in everything.
A company called Skywirez. It was a little Internet service provider with like 3 regular employees and 2 sub contracted HR and payroll employees. I was making 20 an hour there and this morning I got a call saying the company had been acquired by a holding company and 2 of us were let go on the spot. Tomorrow, if you can fucking believe this shit, we actually have a fucking service and install. Then we have to turn in our equipment (Spare billing server, some routers and Ubiquiti devices). No Severance, no explanation about what happened, but the holding company (I forget it's name) is basically an asset chop shop.
We provided internet to a section of rural Ohio.
So....yeah. I need to get unemployment started and hope that the two recruiters I'm meeting with can get me job interviews. One looks promising, and the pay is better. Downside is I can't sit at home, shitpost on an economics board, and get paid for it.
Why is att going to be leading 5g? Wouldn't fibre be more important?
Luke Anderson
I’m new lads, gimme a quick rundown on the economy and it’s current trends. I’ll be eternally grateful

>Red today because Fitbit fucking sucks >Clothing Business nearly ready to launch, clothing being sold at most local shops in my college town several underground musicians have agreed to work with me on merch >food trailer I bought is now partnered with every major bar and club in the city, with each one trying to have it parked there during the weekends >Proposing to girlfriend in December finally bought just the right ring for her >tfw went from working minimum wage, going weeks at a time without electricity to working a good ass job making nearly 6 figures, owning my own business and having the same girl by my side the whole way
We're all gonna make it bros.
I have 8/10 puts that are so close to making money it sucks
Just to be clear - I am recommending a straddle (ATM option contracts), not a strangle. I tend to not like buying OTM options (this is a strangle). If you are inclined to do a strangle I would do it for approximately 10%. I do not like recommending OTM option, especially on/smg/ where there are alot of people new to stocks; people tend to get carried away after getting a big win and lose it all (gambling)
Anyways, for a Strangle about 14 & 11.5, call & put, respectively. I personally think the company is an absolute shitfest, doomed, so I think it has a long farther way to fall to 0 than previously.
Kevin Stewart
S&P has never had a 10yr performance with negative returns, even periods in the 20s and 00s where we had "collapses". Get some dividend yielding stocks, hold them, retire.
Of course, I'm the outcast here. Most of /smg/ is going to tell you to buy shitty irrelevant companies that have a 1 in 1000000 chance of making you a millionaire. You can gamble or invest. The choice is yours. We'll enjoy it either way since "90% of retail investors fail". Just diversify yo bonds nigga.
Got it, america is doing well while the world is shit. Are any other economies doing well? We seem to be the only diamond in the rough They gonna bump soon? They announced some projects I think

how do I get into managing a food truck? Is the management pretty hands off? just curious.
Owen Howard
I like your mode of thinking, but I’m far too new. S&P?
Hudson Smith
Oh jeez. Head to investopedia broski, if you don't even know what the S&P is, you have a long way to go haha
5g is more important. It's a growth sector (IOT, increasing wireless data dependence in day to day life, emerging data sharing economy, mobility data). It's also pretty much as fast as fiber. Private customers will get higher speeds via initial 5g offerings than they get through fiber right now (higher than 1gbps).
Joshua Perry
sage advice here dont listen to the Jow Forumswallstreetbets crowd here unless you want to gamble
Josiah Martin
that said, don't invest in at&t. it won't improve their profits much. rather, invest in companies that will provide the infrastructure for 5g, like cisco, but ideally aim for smaller companies.
you can even invest in suppliers of components of devices that will be used in 5g and IOT, like micron for dram, flash and 3dxpoint, or embedded semi customs companies.
Austin Barnes
It's pretty easy my man.
My friends and I used to go get slammed at bars every weekend. We'd struggle to find places that had decent food and little wait. Food trucks aren't super common here, I see a few sno cone joints but thats it.
I asked 100 people what they're favorite thing to eat after the club was and about half said breakfast, the other half said taco bell.
So we do cheapo tacos and breakfast food. Or breakfast burritos.
I bought the food truck for like 3 grand from a family friend of a friend. Gave my little brother a crash course on cooking and hired him on.
The menu items use the same basic items for the most part. The food quality isn't important at all since everyone is drunk. We charge about 2 dollars in profits per meal while still being cheap as possible. My Dad has a somewhat shady past so he has connections to everyone in my city. I was able to secure placement of the food truck based on bids from various clubs. Our current club pays us 500 a night to stay in their parking lot. That covers our overhead, so everything after is pure profit.
In terms of management, all I do is make sure everything is clean and stocked. I buy my shit from a local bulk store, and every now and then I go to the location and make sure things are moving smoothly.
I normally pull about 1000 dollars in profit over a weekend.
Aiden Young
Are you a crypto refugee or just a young dude? I created the name /smg/, and I'm obligated to tell everyone at least once a month.
I do real life shit, not this degenerate HMNY option spread shit haha. I pay my bills with dividends and just work a cakewalk job to keep adding to my positions. You can too user, just don't be afraid of the market.
I want to gamble. I hope no one uses it as influence though. I have very good reasons to do so.
James Wright
The gambling got me hooked desu and I'm trying to quit. If tomorrow isn't red I'll finally take the chill pill and buy undervalued stocks that are healthy and pay a dividend
Jeremiah Peterson
You're full of shit. You'll still be gambling. Nothing wrong with it, just don't lie about it. We all know better haha
Either yolo on one, or straddle and hope for the best.
Personally I think you should YOLO on puts because Snapchat released some glasses with cameras built in and none of my 50 snapchat friends have heard of them. Over half of them watch the ads, so they're losing money.
Mason Cooper
don't listen to any of these jokers about the economy, most of them still live in their parents basement jerking off to anime. One will tell you it's bad while the other tells you it's good.
Best bet is to do your own DD on all your own stock picks. Gamble here and there on others but always focus on yours. The stock market isn't just about the economy, it's about the trade.
That being said... dollar cost average LCI

seriously what is up with that shareholder meeting. bunch of arrogant trust fund faggots running the company...into the ground

This post is 100% /smg/
You're good then. Figure it out young and you'll still have time to build once you realize how retarded you were at first. I always send people to investopedia, but its probably a bit "mainstream". Find some blogs and shit, but like Planes said, you have to do your own research and understand what to look for and why.
Or just do the exact opposite of Big5Guy.
/smg/ makes up at least 40% of the worthless options
You want to YOLO it? Snapchat straddle. Buy ATM calls and puts same strike same expiration. Additionally buy 2 week out apple calls for about 220. 220 is my PT.
Then with whatever is left buy as much CRMD as you can.
If you REALLY want to YOLO it day trade SPY options, but you'll probably lose.
Ian Campbell
I really don't know what IV means because I'm retarded but if you can make money you should make money
I see the market as going to the casino. Any profit is better than no profit
Easton Roberts
He lost everything on HMNY then his wife divorced him
Cameron Brown
Good on you man. The younger you get into this the better. Investopedia is your friend, papertrade with what you learn on there until you figure out what works best for you.
Adrian Brown
Well options are a directional bet for the most part, except advanced strategies called straddles. You can be correct on the direction of the move yet still not make money on a option due to this thing called implied volatility crush kind of shitty mechanism if you ask me.
If HMNY goes below 0.02 cents per share that means they have more CASH in hand then the value of their shares.
Colton Lopez
Someone post Big5Guy's book for this guy... That doesn't even begin to explain the whole breadth of B5G haha
Owen Gomez
the OP has youtube links for an options intro. watch that. a casino is not a healthy way to look at the market. you'll get rekt.
Levi Hall
i actually picked up some 225 8/31 apple calls today.
feeling really fucking stupid lately cause i hit a 1000% on USO calls last month and then have proceeded to miss the GBR moon, Apple moon , and other short gains. Made like 9% off HABT so that was sick but its frustrating feeling trapped in a wage slave environment 60 hours a week watching everyone else get rich.
I forgot the AMRS saga too haha, jesus man B5G had alllllllllllllll the hot shit
Easton Peterson
>Have had like 5 threads made about me today One for each RKG, sounds about right.
Ethan Edwards
Young people rarely know how to run a business man. This is has been this way for a long time. Even Hugh Hefner nearly killed Playboy with bad moves.
Snapchat has potential, but everyone seems retarded in the company. I personally think the meme potential of the company is gone. Kylie Jenner tweet about how she doesn't use snapchat and the stock fell 8 percent IIRC. There isn't any other stock that could do that. SNAP is volatile and hasn't had a profit since it started.
However, Snapchat is very popular. Even if people are using it less and less, people my age (22) still use it heavily. Instagram is slowly replacing it but we all saw what happened to Facebook, so if you're betting on "well instragram is better" than your wrong.
Overall, I see Snapchat as a company that will fail. Facebook owns several companies. What does Snapchat own? What does Snapchat have to offer that other social media platforms don't? "influencers" don't use it, why would other young people?
Gabriel Long
DISH earnings tomorrow >Put up 30 bucks atm KHC earnings tomorrow >call down 70 bucks atm lets see what happens, first and maybe only time ill do options.
David Evans
unironically seconding this. Of course there is always the possibility of a U turn in company management because of some miracle happening
Jackson Gonzalez
>If HMNY goes below 0.02 cents per share Don't you mean "when"?
Jackson White
Don't be afraid to take profit on your apple calls, 225 is going to be hard to hit by EoM. Set up orders when you get home from work for the next day. Pickup smoking and go on a smoke break to fuck with your stocks.
Honestly, big5 isn't the one to avoid advice from. It's baggy, pic related. He made one awesome call on banks when he was coked the fuck out of his mind, and then didn't trust himself when he was sober. Always trust the high/drunk Jew when they talk about banks.
You know what the one bright part of the shitshow that is my day is? HMNY is trading for 10 cents a fucking share. That's it. That's the only good thing in my life at the moment.

i unironically drive a shuttle bus on a 30 minute loop carting fat boomers around a resort town. fucking hellish job.
i usually have a few minutes at each stop to fuck around. that is if i dont quit or get fired. today a guy screamed at me because i couldnt drive him closer to the subway which was about 400 feet from the stop.
feel like im in a slump. i did pretty well at crypto and caught the 2017 bull run for some massive but not life changing profits...i miss the days of making 5k over night. i was smart and cashed out though which is nice.
Jayden Fisher
big part is due to BTC as say. Additionally, '''precious''' metals do no perform well when stocks do, usually. The more confidence in securities, the less money going to gold & silver.

my face when Kraft and Berkshire crush earnings by a billion percent because they own all the money then pump the stocks 10%
1. For 5g to work it needs to have fibre infrastructure to support it so you're putting the cart before the horse 2. 5g infrastructure will need to be added since the frequencies are higher more towers means more realestate. 3. 5g won't be utilised in iot as they would not be able to use telecom bands for data 4. Any business that needs speed and bandwidth will use fibre. 5. Building the infrastructure will be competitive and no one knows if att will even be leading the bidding for 6. Consumers will need nee phones you utilise 5g 7. Early customers will cop highest prices due to the inebitable debt that will need to pay off building the network, major east coast cities being the beginning and rural areas probably not for another 15years
