“As the flagship retailer, Starbucks will play a pivotal role in developing practical, trusted and regulated applications for consumers to convert their digital assets into US dollars for use at Starbucks,” said Maria Smith, Vice President, Partnerships and Payments for Starbucks. “As a leader in Mobile Pay to our more than 15 million Starbucks Rewards members, Starbucks is committed to innovation for expanding payment options for our customers.”
Main stream adoption is coming, be patient faggots.
"As an initial component of the Bakkt offering, Intercontinental Exchange’s U.S.-based futures exchange and clearing house plan to launch a 1-day physically delivered Bitcoin contract along with physical warehousing in November 2018"
I will never grace that pozzed kilked up nigger loving anti white bussines with my ill gotten internebucks.

>be soiboi corecuck ledditor >take my mobile raspberry pi full lightning node to starbucks >order a soi latte >payment channel routing failure, retry >payment channel routing failure, retry >angry soccermoms behind me in line >payment channel routing failure, retry >give up, try to pay on-chain >$37 transaction fee >waiting at counter for 45 minutes for a goddamn block to be found
Its not that. I hold btc but not bch so i wanted to make sure they meant btc
Jacob Davis
Lol. From what I gathered you will be able to send crypto to the Starbucks app then easily convert to credits in the app or maybe even it will convert and deduct real time. Regardless, normies being able to "see" and use crypto is a good step forward.
Holy shit, and I thought my rack was a mess. bhahahah. Good luck tracing cables or unplugging anything. I think I see a rat running around in that nest.
Samuel Long
The bigger picture here is a market leader pushing for adoption. Slowly but surely. Imagine celebs and their instagram stories showing off their Starbucks gets but also mentioning that they bought it with bitcoin. You know where this is heading.
Samuel Hernandez
just download the eclair or any other LN mobile wallet you retard cashcuck. it works right now. also there is pretty much no chance of a routing failure in this situation because you will probably just have an open channel with starcucks.
It's bizarre, I would have thought people would be piling back into bitcoin by now. This is big news, although maybe people have just had enough of the bitcoin 'crying wolf'. If you're not investing in bitcoin now, you MUST hate money. Someone tell me another confirmed major company saying they will accept bitcoin if you don't think this is important.
This has been THE roadblock to bitcoin's success - that no-one has a use for it. But now it's finally changing.
Noah Adams
I would have though this news would lead to a green dildo back over 8K but the market seems entirely unresponsive.

volume is picking up if that counts for anything

Proove me wrong, screenshot this it will be Dragonchain.
Brody Evans
so it's basically paypal for crypto? how is that supposed to be useful? I would rather just pay with a credit/debit card
Jonathan Richardson
good point, looks like we're up on volume compared to the same time yesterday, and the decrease in price after ETF FUD seems to have ceased for now
Jeremiah Wood
It will also act as a reward program, you will get "points" to spend in store.

Fuck you, you screenshot the shit and post it IF it ever happens. I don't have time for retarded shilling.
Jason Myers
>Main stream adoption is coming, be patient faggots. That's bad news. Starbucks wouldn't want a currency that's $.3 today and $3.0 next week. So whatever they're pushing will lose the volatility crypto needs for trading.
Joseph Lee
bbbbutt butcorn is ded rr-iight guys
Nolan Parker
Accepting bitcoin is a meme. Why would I spend $5 on a shitty latte when that will be $20 later? Bitcoin is for boomers.
Asher Barnes
to be honest most normies probably think you can buy stuff from Microsoft with bitcoin anyway ('NEEEEEERRDS :P buying nerd stuff with nerd money :PPPP XD OMFG ROFL')
The sheer size of Microsoft sort of cancels that though. Even though Starbucks is smaller, it's probably better for showing how bitcoin works to normans since you physically go into a Starbucks cafe.
Landon James
Please let me know what the tx fee is if there more demand than 7 tx/s on the network(hint check December prices) . Please explain me how do you expect normies to use LN if they can't tell a difference between a personal wallet and an exchange account. I was pro BTC for a while, but after trying out LN I was utterly disappointed. Why should I go through all this shit if BCH can currently handle up to 200 tx/s with basically no downsides to it whatsoever?
Brayden Jenkins
>for consumers to convert their digital assets into US dollars
why the fuck would anyone do that? fuck the $ and the banksters
Dominic White
>be Yank >visit Europe >fug I forgot my Eurodollars but want a frappuccino RIGHT NOW REEEE >fat pile of fiat in bank >convert the appropriate amount to bitcoin (much less costly than converting to Euros) >buy your fucking coffee which is dynamically priced by the cafe to reflect current bitcoin value
really not that hard to see its use and even its advantage
Ryan Bennett
BCH is the real Bitcoin though. Someone post that image of the transaction cost for BCH vs Bcore and you'll see Bcore is absolute trash.
>Why should I go through all this shit if BCH can currently handle up to 200 tx/s with basically no downsides to it whatsoever?
Replace Dogecoin with Bcash and you have the same thing. Bcash is just riding the Bitcoin brand. It is like every other alt coin.
Jackson Butler
All it takes is a Google search you fucking brainlet, stay poor.
Justin White
baby steps man, baby steps.

Sounds like OmiseGo...
Chase Reed
It's something. It's still too early to expect a big business to totally transform into the crypto ecosystem. They need to buy supplies, pay taxes, etc. But this way they still give BTC value by expanding its spending opportunities.
Luke Lewis
what is nano
Adrian Thomas
Whether you like it or not domestic currencies will still exist. It has to exist because no country will have their national currency be decentralized. What will happen is banks will have BTC as their reserves to prove they can back their domestic holdings. That way domestic currencies can be borderless without being borderless.
Austin Long
unironically this is where it all starts for adoption
Cooper Foster
>mfw I have 50k liquid assets in crypto and run a business that covers my bills + some. >>"poor"
Anthony Flores
A hard fork doesn't mean it's a new copy. A great chunk of miners and developers that were behind the original BTC chose keep using the same technology as was originally intended. For now they have to use BCH ticker, but eventually it's possible that the market doesn't like BTC, it's price goes down so much that miners abandon it and poof: BCH becomes the new BTC.
Owen Perry
I don't think that this news will really move the markets much, but it should at least put an end to the bear.
William Wilson
You realize that as BTC gains more adoption like this the odds of that happening get closer and closer to zero right? BCH is an entirely different chain and as bigger and bigger investments get involved with BTC they are less and less likely to ever move to BCH.
Sure it is entirely possible they will fork it again and it might even be a bigger block fork but it won't be the BCH chain. That is probably the hardest pill for people to swallow is that BTC can be forked and it is more likely to fork again with the new chain becoming BTC than it is for BCH to take over the Bitcoin title.
Jordan Allen
>For now they have to use BCH ticker, but eventually it's possible that the market doesn't like BTC, it's price goes down so much that miners abandon it and poof: BCH becomes the new BTC What kind of alternate universe do you live in that an altcoin is going to replace Bitcoin? Do you see institutions wanting to get in Bcash? No. They are making markets for Bitcoin and maybe Ethereum in the near future.
Again you can argue for any other altcoin to replace bitcoin. It doesn't mean it will though.
>lightening is coming soon >people cant tell the difference between btc and BCH! >after you buy our faggotcoin, you need to also do a bunch of shit to use lightening network
Anthony Edwards
>holding the inflationary asset >converting to deflationary asset to spend
lol, you realize I'm OP right? and those pictures I posted are from work earlier today that I do in one of the biggest DC's in all of the EU.
Henry Garcia
I agree that nation states and their currencies will remain. BUT their influence over the world economy will go to minimum. The biggest wealth will be created online with AI applications and there's no reason you shouldn't evade taxes with cryptos. The governments will beg to get a piece of that wealth and will compete with lower taxes to each other.
Owen Jenkins
lol, you realize I'm OP right? and those pictures I posted are from work earlier today that I do in one of the biggest DC's in all of the EU.
BTC is just the first step. Once it gets actually used and it works like shit, alternatives will be considered. And BCH adoption is fast as fuck, DYOR.
Cooper Watson
Nice mess of wires you got there user, what is that like 3 raspberry pi's mining that Bitcorn?
Cooper Flores
I really enjoy how you just ignored the content of my post and the reasons why BCH wouldn't likely be thing adopted and you just replied DYOR research.
Hey fag send me a board and 64gb of RAM. I'll buy you some s-bux
Ryder Martinez
The points you tried to make are worth ignoring, BCH is getting more popular for vendor acceptance, not less popular, there's plenty of time to grow. BTC is forked all the time, but BCH has remained as the only relevant one. The only people who oppose BCH are the people who got it for free, sold it for 200$ because 'bcash lol' without doing research what it is.
Adam Jenkins
deal, just give me your home address, credit card number and CVC.
William Harris
>Worth ignoring >Because you can't actually refute them >BCH is getting more popular for Vendor acceptance So is Litecoin. >BTC is forked all the time Not out of consensus of moving BTC forward. BTC as you know it is a fork that everyone agreed on. BCH like every other fork is one that people did not agree on so it did not take hold as the new BTC chain.
BTC and BCH are two different things. The adoption one gets does not matter to the other. If BTC gets adopted and it underperforms they aren't moving to BCH. They are going to fork BTC without the need to affect their investments. They only share similar names. BTC adoption is not BCH adoption and vice versa.
Jacob Brown
Nice, so you got the Mitsubishi Eclipse of server racks, did you install a bigger exhaust for that sweet sweet engine noise?
Camden Johnson
the link is broken this article is fake news don’t fall for it noobs
Tyler Flores
If you literally can't copy pasta a link, I have no words. hell yeah bro, I got that triple turboback quad turbo Eclipse two step brembo brake 42U rack.
Ryan Robinson
I agree partially to what you're saying, BCH is also competing with other Altcoins, fair enough. But BCH is still the only relevant competitor to the same miner network and for the longest/safest chain. The Bitcoin brand is strong and I think it's good that it has a backup with the original technological approach. LN might work, but the approach is very risky.
Leo Wilson
Who the hell will ever figure out how to send an email.

Wait a second, I just realized, "CFTC review and approval." is not equal to SEC. Isn't CFTC pro Crypto? Holy shit... Bullrun incoming Nov

LN approach: before you send the email you must figure out a route through which you can send it. And then commit to sending 10 emails. And once it's confirmed you can start sending emails fast. With BCH you just send the email.
Listen here, Eurotrash. No one cares about your shitty server racks or crypto dad.
Joseph Jenkins
I'm actually a born and raised American. Lol. If you have half a brain, you'll get out of their neonazi slave labor nation. Feels good to get out of the shithole called USA. Don't you get it? NYSE BAKKT will go through CFTC for approval which is LEAD by Cryptodad AKA CFTC Chair. Get half a brain, idiot.
