You should practice eugenics by selectively choosing a highly intelligent person to have children with to increase your chances that your children are also intelligent. Then teach them how to invest wisely enough such that they can at least maintain the wealth that you have left them. Even if your children end up with average intelligence they can still be taught to invest well enough that they don't destroy their inheritance.
Passing on generational wealth is all about good breeding and taking part in your children's education. It shouldn't come as too much surprise that this is somewhat uncommon.
