Don't think they act like that but w/e. Brave is a subpar chromium browser like a billion others you can find out there. Could go on and write an essay on this but the tl;dr of it is that even the best chromium based browser project out there atm, lacks adoption and finds it really hard to penetrate the market despite all its novelties and advantages( talking about Vivaldi). I ve said this many times already, the fact that bat lives and dies with brave has already doomed this token (inb4 my bat extensions for Chrome /Mozilla nonsense).

At the rate they move its going to be another 2 years before they have all the features of the other browsers. I read about their ad testing as well. Supposedly they have machine learning but im skeptical about how much tech they're inventing themselves.

It's not even about that imho. Even if they somehow managed to be on par/better with the best browsers out there atm ,gaining marketshare is gonna be extremely hard. Again,take a look at Vivaldi. The project is really solid, the browser is already outperforming chrome/ff in many areas,has amazing support and developer feedback.Hell for some specific compiling tasks one could argue that you shouldnt be web developing web on anything but vivaldi atm and yet it finds it hard to even penetrate the niche market of web devs that supposedly primarily hunts performance.

It's not that bad. And I gave up trying to get normies in my family using Chrome with ad lockers etc. Having something with sane defaults out of the box is great, runs much faster than Chrome too. Only real issue is not being able to install other extensions, or at least write new ones yet.
