Why does the government doesn't step in to Stop the uber/lyft manance...

Why does the government doesn't step in to Stop the uber/lyft manance? My father has been a taxi driver for many years he raised me and my brother working his Taxi for more than 12 hrs a day at a time. He would average around $250 a day....now he is LUCKY o even make $80 a day. I can't stand looking at my father so depressed as a result of a hundreds of thousands of College fAggots driving for uber """just on the side""" that don't even know the city and have to look at their phones nonstop. /rant

this is bait. If not, fuck your privileges

even uber drivers will be replaced by autonomous cars within 10 years

Im ok with uber. Taxis were fucking expensive anyways

why doesnt he uber

btw gov protecting industry is the death of capitalism

No one gives a shit. Now we don't have to sit in some old ass beater and get railed on prices every time we wanna take a taxi.

This economy has always been evolving, you just have to adapt. If you don't adapt, you lose.

I spoke with some Uber/Lyft drivers when I went out normieing a few weekends ago. They only make about $10/hr, minus gas and wear and tear on their cars.

You have to be retarded to drive for Uber/Lyft

Pajeet is mad that his dad has to buy a permit to engage in legal commerce to protect shitty unions but the world is moving past their crony capitalist bullshit. P.S wipe down your cab once in a while.

then use uber/lyft, you can easily make 200+ a day if you're slaving 12+ hours

Jobs that will be almost gone by 2030:

+ All types of driving (even airplanes).
+ Cooking (not just burger flipping but restaurants too).
+ Phone-related (support/sales).
+ Repetitive stuff like cleaning floors or mowing lawns.
+ Jobs that are 90% compiling information (doctors, lawyers).
+ Jobs that can be done remotely (surgeon).

Thankfully I've got a lot of BCH so I won't need to worry.

I don't get why people would Uber. You lose money on it if you factor in the costs??

Your dad is a boomer and so are you
>COPE

If your industry can be usurped by bored loser faggots rethink the merits of your """"""craft""""""

Can't a taxi driver use Uber or Lyft while they're driving the taxi? I think I saw this in Washington DC, regular taxi drivers also using Uber. Pretty brainlet to just drive the taxi you're missing so many customers.

The prices of Uber are like 1/5 what they would be making as a taxi.

Every time I've taken an uber they've always been really chill, only once had a new guy confused about the route but figured it out quickly, and it's cheap. On the other hand taxis are fucking ripoffs who intentionally fuck your journey just to get a higher rate, often completely unpleasant people in my experience. I've also had taxi drivers who had to spend 10 minutes getting out a physical map because they didn't know the route but didn't have a smartphone. I get a better service, cheaper, and would rather my money go to pajeets who are at least trying than shitty taxijeets who expect everyone to give a shit about them.

>Cooking (not just burger flipping but restaurants too)

Burger flipping and line chefs I agree, but for richy places that charge for "decor" and "reputation" I doubt it. Considering they already use hilariously outdated cooking methods and recipes now just to be "traditional" and "authentic". Rich asshats don't want to eat the same thing/way as poor people which is why maids and butlers are still a thing despite rumbas being better at 70% of the job.

>that don't even know the city and have to look at their phones nonstop.
People using technology to elevate their shortcomings is bad? If it was a skill that could be replaced by a simple app, then stopping this aspect would be an incredibly bad move. Yes, tech kills jobs. That's good.

>millions of drivers are voluntarily burning their time and money

The monopoly of cabs is fucked, dude. It hurts the consumer the most. Cabs in germany charge 30 euro for an hour of waiting. There are spots where only cabs can wait, paid for with taxpayer money. These asshats charge three times minimum salary for waiting - and the fucking car isnt fucking driving.
If your only skill is to operate a vehicle you should be thankful if someone pays you to do that. You shouldnt organize in a cartel to duck everybody over and create barriers of entry. Cant wait for decentralized uber, its going to be the bomb

yeah there will still be some cooking jobs around, for richy places. won't be an option for a career though, will be just enough cooking jobs over for the top geniuses in the world that were born to be chefs

Waaaaaah the government won't enforce my monopoly waaaaaaaaah

>manance
Nice genes.

We'll need humans to create new foods because computers have no taste buds though (yet)

Stop whining and start competing, faggot.

Lol you idiots think even average people are gonna eat robot-made slop in 12 years. God this place is retarded sometimes.

Sorry OP I’m sure you’re dad is a good guy. The posters are kinda right about Uber being better, esp in secondary cities where cabs weren’t a functional option, but Uber has just said fuck the rules and is now trying to force driver salaries off on customers via tips. Half the benefit was fixed cost up front without tips. Could easily see Uber failing or just ending up in the same place as traditional cabs.

is this a sell sign?
