A big chunk of their military are undertrained conscripts, another chunk of them are not in favor of Maduro. Their military is now in bad shape. The army running over a bunch of hungry civilians with trucks also lost them a significant amount of support from the general population as well. Maduro has also fucked up keeping the military operational. They literally can't even afford to operate their fancy expensive Russian fighters despite having massive oil reserves. I think if a war remained entirely within Latin American IE no US/RUS/CHINA/EU input Venezuela would end up just deposing of Maduro rather than get their cities potentially wrecked by Brazilian/Colombian/Peruvian forces. Only the hardline Chavista minority would hold out.
