Have 40 dollars on Bitmex

>have 40 dollars on Bitmex
>20 dollars * 25 leverage = 500 dollars

>500 = long
>500 = short

>if bitcoin goes long at least 5% i will have hedged my short loss.
>if bitcoin goes short at least 5% i will have hedged my long loss.

I still dont get it. plz explain am sincerely interested

If it sounds too good to be true...

He is a retard who doesn't realize if he gets liquidated he doesn't just lose the $25.

but he does just lose the $25

But who was leverage?

or does he not???

What about collateral? Doesn't bitmex starts predating your account when you are losing? Also you are not even considering fees, your math is way off from the get go.

you only send $40 equivalent of BTC into your account brainlet

The real joke in this thread and the entirety of Jow Forums for that matter is that most of the young fucks here think that trading crypto is the most efficient way to make money. It's so dumb it's not even funny.

>tfw comfy beating the system..

Attached: 0f3.png (3340x3176, 205K)

enlighten us then

There are other markets other than cryptocurrency.

Of course. Why get on what is close enough to the ground floor of a new asset class right as Wall Street is starting to realize and pay attention to it when you can invest in a crashing stock market or real estate market and get those juicy 2 percent returns.

This is a volatility bet called a butterfly. It is used since the 80s.

>crashing stock market
Do you know what shorting is at all?
>juicy 2 percent returns
same line spread throughout Jow Forums from people who just recently got into trading because of crypto.
>ground floor of a new asset class
Bitcoin is 9 years old.

You can short crypto too. It returns aren't nearly as great and nobody knew what the fuck BTC was 5 years ago. Let's also not forget that commercial computers are 60 years old and the tech boom happened 20 years ago and continues to this day. Guess that means getting in during the early nineties and hell even the early 2000s after the bubble burst was stupid because it was decades old.

I understand hating crypto. People have weird focuses. You aren't using logic however and your entire reason for hating it is emotional along with why you are even posting in this thread.

>You aren't using logic however and your entire reason for hating it is emotional along with why you are even posting in this thread.
Yet that is the precise reason for your first response in this thread. You came in to defend bitcoin because you have an emotional identity with it. I responded with logic to all of your points in It sounds to me like you're the emotional one.

I disassembled your "logic" and then your response is to ignore it and say NUH UH YOU ARE. I responded because you posted blatant horseshit.

No, a butterfly is a strategy with options. OP needs calls and puts for that. What OP is describing is how to 100% lose money no matter which way the price goes by giving the exchange its margin fees.

>disassembled
I answered without emotion. Just with facts.
>you posted blatant horseshit.
These kind of responses are at the bottom of the argument pyramid. It seems to me like you're from reddit and should return there. See? I can do that too.

It works if the market breaks out in one direction. If it goes up 6% then back down to -6% you lose everything.

>Didn't check those digits
>Instead passive aggressively tries to dodge the fact he still hasn't addressed
You really are some boomer from Reddit aren't you.

>didn't check those digits
You really are new here aren't you?
>passive aggressively
Nothing I've said had any sort of that kind of intent behind it. You may be projecting?

You really aren't going to address the post I made at all are you. You are going to keep shifting the argument because you don't actually have any points to make other than fuck this I hate this thing.

I addressed all the points you made in >shifting the argument
I'm not shifting any argument. Although it's not so much of a proper argument anymore with all of the ad hominems you've been throwing.

i dunno, i played on testnet cause im a burntside burger and whenever I lost, I only lost what I put down

This post Was made in direct response to that post. You addressed none of it. Your second post in the thread was calling everyone in crypto dumb young fucks so trying to jump on the ad hominem train is laughable.

You are actually being a dodgy kike right now.

Its a shame this thread devolved into a deluded Boomer and bait loving retard fighting. This should have been a long thread about some jackass thinking he found the secret to infinite money and totally JUSTing himself on Bitmex.

What is there to respond to? Bitcoin was released 9 years ago and you were just making up excuses as to how it's not too late.
>You are actually being a dodgy kike right now.
You are resorting to namecalling. Your emotions are getting the better of you.

You started off the thread name calling and you keep dodging every question. You are arguing in bad faith or are a moron. You can't consistently fail to avoid actually addressing points otherwise.

Fail and avoid. I'm done with this though. Nobody is actually this stupid.

>started off namecalling
I said there are other markets other than just cryptocurrency.
>dodging every question
I've responded to everything you've said.
>You are arguing in bad faith
Says the guy who resorts to namecalling
>Nobody is actually this stupid
Says the guy who has no point to make

>bitcoin is 9 years old
Find me an asset class younger than that.

Just because there isn't, doesn't mean you're not late to the party.

Are you really this fucking retarded? Do you think you’re going to be able to short when the stock market starts to collapse?

>Are you really this fucking retarded?
You are responding with namecalling because your emotions got the best of you.
>Do you think you’re going to be able to short when the stock market starts to collapse?
>Doesn't know what a short is

Yeah I guess no one makes money in the stock market anymore because they missed out on the east india trading company moon mission.

There's no volume in crypto. At this rate, you can make money if you hold for a year+. If you want to see quicker returns, there are other markets to do that in.

This

>He is a retard who doesn't realize if he gets liquidated he doesn't just lose the $25.

Can someone comment on this? I've never leveraged on bitfinex but I'm pretty sure you only lose the money you have deposited right?

if it goes up 6% you take action duh, set the stop loss at +4% or something to secure profit/prevent loss..

go ahead and do it with 20000 dollars then. Post again once you make it. We know you wont cause you dont really trust your 'basic math' do you
