Alright, so here is the options profit/loss for those you who went on the straddle life on SNAP with me, based on my entry (12.5 8/17): opcalc.com/goEQ

The bounds are a move of 50%, which would be a repeat of earnings beat 2/6/2018. The most likely move is 30%, 16.70 & 8.99. An upwards move of only 14% will result in a breakeven; likewise, a downwards move of 24% will result in breakeven. These breakeven values are for ON EXPIRATION. Move should be complete by the 15th at latest, based on previous movement on earnings. Based on current market price (Close today should be used for calculations going into earnings).

>Values are %Gain/Loss

Only way to long US oil and gas is through midstream MLPs or like, frack sand companies.

You could long midstream and fracking contractors and short actual brent oil. Sounds like one of the lunatic fucking strategies a real oil speculator guy would do and make a shitton of money off.

Please keep posting stuff like this, it's educational.
Didn't know we had a gentle/m/an in here.
AMD and Sprint climbing. This is great.

Straddle is when you buy both calls and shorts so you lose money in both directions when it trades flat and all your options expire out of the money.

>tfw I missed the HMNY moon mission.

HMNY holy fuck lol

For anyone interested in oil prices.
oilprice.com/oil-price-charts

thanks nigga

A straddle is when you purchase call & put contracts same strike & expiration. It is used for when you expect a large move in the underlying. You lose money when the underlying trades flat/sideways (does not have a big move upward or downward).

fucking TVIX today, jesus

>TVIX

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

It's Jow Forums memeing HMNY into HMNH.

>ODP earnings
Gonna be a shitshow. Can't wait.
I get the basic concept, but I'm trying to duplicate what you did for educational purposes and failing. I see you're doing a 12.50/12.50 that looks like it expires Aug 17th. Prices not correct?

Attached: explain.png (699x1255, 112K)

What is even causing it? Nothing seems to be pumping that hard.

Your range is too small. Click 'More Output Options' and increase the range.

So as long as it doesn't stay flat, you can make money? This shit looks like financial wizardry to me.

but it COULD stay flat enough

Is there any chance of short term futures going up?

It needs to move pretty far for a straddle to make money, it's just that snap is likely to move far enough

there's also a strategy called the Iron Condor where you make money if it doesn't move enough

it doesnt need a market pump, VIX has a downward bias and its a nothingday so

its ultimate , usually cum when she starts freaking out and wanting less choking

>that look of utter terror when she cant breath and im not letting go
>replaced 2 seconds later by ultimate joy as i finish and it drips out of her

Literally heaven
there is no feeling in the world that comes close

anyways long SPY, its going to the moon

Attached: choking anime.jpg (496x534, 117K)

Just buy before close tomorrow and you'll most likely get a 100% return on your money at open wednesday

I'm an idiot.
Yeah, that'll do it.

Attached: 1468717367567.jpg (636x473, 37K)

>Iron Condor
>look it up
Unreal. This shit is fucking cool.

-5.8% and counting seems like a big change for a flat day

Are you they guy that vacuum sealed that chick and then refused to let her out till she passed out?

AMD mooning

Options are so much fun. Also you'll lose an unbelievable amount of money when you get started so be careful

Nope, thats pretty normal for the golden bull
Im pretty positive it will go to 9 as the spx reaches 3k

nice way to start the week

>HMNY

Again, you're betting on the underlying moving A LOT. In the case of SNAP is needs to move in excess of 14% up or 24% down. SNAP averages 30% on ER. More risk is applied due to Implied Volatility increasing (IV Crush). The "trick" is to get in a trade that is undervalued by the market. This becomes increasingly difficult as earnings approach.

>using a bag when i have perfectly good hands
>not feeling every single beat of her heart

nope

>no feeling comes close
Sticking ecstasy and meth up your ass

the fuck

>IT'S SUPERIOR TO ROBINHOOD IN EVERY WAY
It's owned by chinks, and I dislike and distrust chinks.

Attached: chinese dont know how to lay bricks.jpg (1280x720, 245K)

sorry, correction, I wrote that wrong.>More risk is applied due to Implied Volatility decreasing rapidly (IV Crush)

IV Crush occurs when the event that is being speculated about occurs (in this case, earnings)

I realize that, which is why I'm sitting here like a brainlet wojak watching this shit being done in awe.
>betting on the underlying moving A LOT
During ERs don't stocks usually move alot either up or down, making it a good idea to plan out your options trading before an ER?

Didn't some user say to short volatility couple days ago? I always stay out of that shit since it takes forever to settle funds and the best price changes are like, 20% on a threat of nuclear war.. Investors are undeterred by risk to the US market.

VIX and it's derivatives are boring and gay, basically is what I'm saying.

holy shit AMD im cumming

>it's chinese
Whenever somebody mentions anything China business related, I think of this long wall of text.

Attached: Avoid the Chinese - China never changes.png (1400x5552, 946K)

I hope it gets delisted and added to the boneyard of your portfolio.

>using a chink owned service.
no

Yes. This is where IV comes into play. Implied Volatility nearly always has a steady increase as earnings approach. If you purchase too early you will get absolutely crushed by theta decay, even if the stock moves flat. It is a risky, tricky business.

looking to sell a strangle in AMD at 16/23 for september. wish me luck

It's probably related to Intel being downgraded again. Intel stocks don't seem low enough to buy and hold.
Think AMD will stabilize at 20 dollars per share end of Q4 or is this too conservative a price?

Attached: Redpill in Africa.webm (640x360, 2.47M)

tl;dr

Is it possible to buy a straddle on robinhood for SNAP today or am I too late?

Who else making tons of bucks on AMD?

Attached: 1531712001584.jpg (444x512, 20K)

Chinese are notoriously sketchy

theres no greater pleasure in life, than watching bearfaggots get btfo into silence

Attached: 1533339020192.jpg (1898x1005, 140K)

there is also the glorious Iron Butterfly. It is a lot like the condor; profit under same conditions. But the zone is smaller, and thus, the potential is greater.

No shit. Don't need a long ass wall of text to know that.

You could, but IV is at 130% now (12.5 8/17)

So the move would have to be huge to overcome, correct?

I just took a look at 8/10 contracts and the IV is at 200%

>Holy Hell

Attached: 1518133041642.jpg (125x124, 2K)

>when your divs portfolio is at $99,250

wat do to celebrate when it eventually breaks $100K?

You can make easy money selling naked puts

would rather take this trade instead

How long have you been options trading? Some of this looks like you have to keep getting burned to get a real understanding of and develop an instinct in.
