Lots a of crime , gas shortages, and political turmoil
pretty much the same as any anglo country except less relevant, shittier infrastructure and older technology
same as now
Children were molested by churches and pretty much every other organization. Gay people were murdered and the police covered it up. Everyone had guns and shot each other.
Lot of poverty. Strong political repression. We almost go to war with Peru in 1975 and then with Argentina in 1978
There were good times when commies flew free of charge on a helicopter.

Economic boom, but also political (red vs black) terrorism and social tensions
The best times for the USSR: high oil prices, relatively high standard of living, no repression, low crime rate
Stalin killed way more commies during the purges, but nobody praises him as a commie-killing machine
A bit like this youtu.be
cuz he was a fucking commie too
I’m curious, is Brezhnev held in high esteem in Russia today?
So what, he was both a commie and a commie killer
Among sovietfags he is, though that varies a lot.
Among other people he is usually disliked, but nobody really cares about him, he is very rarely brought up, unlike Stalin, or Yeltsin, or Gorby, or whatever.
Cities had those 70s fashion common(you can see it in cricket matches). As for my family, my maternal grandfather worked for Indian gov in Nepal so they crossed the border everyday

He isnt held in high esteem, but the older generation (50+) recall it with nostalgia, because their childhood / youth came during his reign.
And his rule was really good, compared to what happened in 1980-90: poverty, scarcity, the mafia, shooting in the street.
Gommunist :D
>the older generation (50+) recall it with nostalgia
That's what comes across when watching clips on youtube with westerners talking to the Babushka folk about their Soviet era experiences. They didn't like life under Stalin very much. Still it's only youtube and former Soviet states so take that as it is.
