I dunno but check out this huge low volume dump at the close of day. on the 15 min charts, it's the biggest low volume price drop i can see in the last year.
anyone with greater knowledge than myself have an idea? shakeout before earnings?
"Heading into the report, analysts are projecting earnings to rise more than 26% year-over-year to $2.84-per-share. Revenue is expected to rise 6.8% to $30.01 billion."
"The dilemma for HD stock investors is that Home Depot will more than likely post better than expected earnings due to the lag between new home sales and the impact on home owners buying new home goods. Guidance will likely be the big issue for HD stock.
This brings to mind the potential for $200 to act as a spoiler for any post-earnings Home Depot stock rally. Will the market bear $200 for the stock? Will guidance keep investors from pushing the shares any higher?"
I've been playing options with closely out of the money calls and selling in the earnings run up. managed to trade myself out of a big fucking hole after buying the top of some stupid comcast calls. learning more everyday. got a bit riding on this so i need to have a realistic stop loss.
You think they're going to have a good earnings? I think it's more of a longer term hold. Only thing earnings will have is maybe guidance on the buyout. I don't think the company is going to be doing much more until after buyout happens.
>walk away to play with my dog for an hour >come back >futures dumping again

Should i put aome money on UVXY? I keep trying to time an entry and getting boned.
Mason Barnes
I got in UVXY @ 9.19 so you would be in a way better position than me if you bought in tomorrow below 9. But there's a possibility UVXY might open with a gap up to 10 or something. Today was a good day to get into it.

Talked myself out of it this morning and kicked myself in the ass after it shot up.
>The euro slumped with emerging-market currencies and stocks declined amid concern Turkey’s problems are spilling over. The Turkish lira hit a fresh record low amid a souring of diplomatic relations with the U.S.
>The dollar extended gains and the euro sank as the Financial Times reported the European Central Bank was concerned about the Turkish exposure of some European banks.
Wut? Why is the yen not raising more? No yuan/aussie dollar increases? Are people betting that much on the US CPI?
>futures dump >I still have puts Feels good. This week has been a crazy week, robintracker strategy is coming along fine, I'm in the green. We're all going to make it lads

I think Turkey just flatlined.

Can someone please make dollar stop fucking pumping.
Brayden Morris
Rip. Makes me kind of sad, I have friends who live in Turkey. They've been talking about leaving for the US, thankfully they're extremely wealthy. But what sucks is most of their money is tied up in real estate. Shit's fucked, I talked to them and they were super scared after the """coup""", wouldn't even dare to badmouth Erdogan over the phone or in email. At least I got to go over there and see the Hagia Sophia, who knows how long things there will last.
I'll be pretty fucking pissed if it is. I was last there in 2013, tensions were already a little high, and Syria hadn't completely popped off at that point. Probably wouldn't visit there today. You're an /sg/fag, you'd probably know more about it than me, I only casually keep track of the war, livemap, etc.
Luis Watson
I hope you all sold some of the AMC I told you to buy today. Also giddy up on vol idiots.
fuck money, fuck politics, fuck my internet addiction, fuck my new haircut and fuck saving on furniture.
What want is take you to Sankt Peterburg in the winter. I want to get high in Prague with you, I want to get lost in Fes with you, I want to ski with you in the Austrian alps, I want to pretend to care about wine with you in southern Italy. I want to hold you outside a bar at 3 in the morning and not feel my face, I want to see your favorite bands, I want to make friends with your brother and with your friends, I want you to want me, I want to take you climbing and beat you at chess. I want you to talk to me about brains and sophisticated data science, and perhaps I'll even understand. I want to dance with you to folk music, and get ecstasy at a rave, and then maybe love you. I want to share my fear, my adrenaline, my ambition, my sense of wonder and my ugly cynicism. I want to tickle you, I want to see you when you're cold, I want to share my books with you.
All I want is you you you.

Pissing a few moments ago I looked down at my penis affectionately.
Knowing it has been inside you twice today makes me feel beautiful.

I have been to chinkland and I can assure you they make exact copies of Hollywood action/thriller movies (except with way less whities and niggers and way more chinks)
But the funny thing is those movies don't export well. Even poo in loo movies fare better abroad.
investopedia, just looking at stockcharts, drawing lines and following them real time, zerohedge sometimes has ok articles that can be used for learning
First learn about Margin and Leverage. Then learn about movement increments. Pips for forex, ticks/points for CFDs/Futures. Be clear on how to calculate your amount risked per movement increment.
I don't really know what entry/exit approach you'd prefer. But the the underlying idea behind trading is to cut losers and let winners run for as long as possible, and add to them when you can.
This Dow position, for example, was a winner, but is now turning into a loser due to the stop hunting that took place around Support, leading to a downward breakout. I'm going to assume it's a false breakout. If I'm wrong, then I have to get out.
Liam Adams

I've traded both.

Thanks frens. Dads an accountant and i had management and finances classes in uni. Is that of any help ? What can the aforementioned help me with if anything? Thanks again
Accounting won't help you very much with trading, more for Investing. In finance you probably learned about Margin, right? Initial margin, Maintenance Margin, Margin Calls, Marked-to-Market. That'll be of help.

I am a Buffett-sama memester I don't trade but invest in companies I like I read financial reports, do models and try to guess the future narrative of companies
Being a seasoned accountant won't necessarily make you a good investor as fundamentally you have to feel if a business has a bright future and a competent and honest management
I've watched enough of comfy's videos to know that the short squeeze is never happening.

>warning explicit language Is this based on the rumours of Drumpf saying he will rebuild the infrastructure of the USA ?
Alexander Williams
The Dow staying in this is interesting because it indicates that someone doesn't want the market to go up, indicating their might be quite a big move if it does get some upward trend going.
Another thing to consider is the CPI number coming out soon, which might have people on edge. Too high a number may indicate increased Fed hawkishness.
Michael Murphy
