>Americans pay $2000 every time they call the ambulance

>>Americans pay $2000 every time they call the ambulance

1. With an insurance it is for free, right?
2. Some jobs, for example IT jobs or scientist positions often have an insurance like a bonus from their company, so it is kind of a free-tier, right?
3. Even poor people have a free insurance from a government ("obama care" and other stuff from charity organizations), right?
4. Are insurance prices high? Some big health problems, like cancer, will not be covered fully by your insurance, but any other health problems can be covered mostly. Is it all right?

Please tell how much money do you spend for the insurance and what problems did you ever have. Have you ever paid a lot for a medicine? Are high medicine prices is a myth mostly for you or is it a big real problem?

1. Depends on copay/deductible, you have to pay for at least a part of some things even though you have insurance
2. Yes but as above you usually have to pay something about and beyond what you pay for insurance (there's a limit though, usually $2-10k per year)
3. Yes but you have to pay a little bit, like $50 a month (unless you are truly disabled i.e. on dialysis, over 65 or a child)
4. Yes

At my last job they deducted like $100 from my paycheck every month and they supposedly chipped in $400 so I guess the total cost for insurance would be ~$500. My deductible was like $5k I think.

My employer pays 80% of my health insurance. Haven't calculated how much I pay from my paycheck. Meds are only like $25 a month.

Healthcare is fucking retarded in this country and I'm far-right politically speaking

>1. With an insurance it is for free, right?
With a deductible of like $500 dollars, my father had a massive stroke and spent 2 days in the hospital with surgery and it only “costed” him less than 1000 dollars
>2.
Yes. Any decent job will come with healthcare plans
>3. Even poor people have a free insurance from a government ("obama care" and other stuff from charity organizations), right?
Obama care is not free. You are forced by the big dick of the law to buy the insurance, for some people it’s better than what they had before but for others it was worse than their former insurance.
>4. Are insurance prices high? Some big health problems, like cancer, will not be covered fully by your insurance, but any other health problems can be covered mostly. Is it all right?
Yeah it’s pretty high since in America the price for healthcare is inflated because of the existance of insurance. It’s just a big pryramid scheme and all the Jews behind it need to be shot.

>Are high medicine prices is a myth mostly for you or is it a big real problem?
Not a problem for me but some people who have diabetes or some shit literally die since they cannot afford the insulin or other drug. There is a huge problem right now in America that people live paycheck to paycheck and cannot afford a $500 dollar emergency expense

Tell more TRUE stories about it all please. Your reallife situations or something. How much did you spend in your case of a health problem?

I broke my arm a few years back, was handed a bill for $7,200 in total, half of that being from xrays and then the rest from the casting and pain killers. My insurance covered $7,150 and I had to pay a $450 deductible to the insurance company. Then I ended up paying about $30 in pain medication with my insurance paying 90% and I paid 10% and that was about 50 pills or so. It was way less than I was expecting tb h

Are you addicted to heroine now?

kek no

>a bill for $7,200 in total
>insurance covered $7,150
>I had to pay a $450 deductible

How it all works? 7200 - 7150 is 50, why did you pay 450? What is deductable? A monthly payment for the insurance?

how is it a good idea to charge a deductible to see a doctor? i mean, if going to the doctor early and getting regular check ups that can prevent more serious and expensive treatments later on, why would you include a deductible which dissuades people from going for routine checkups?

deductible is there to prevent people from seeing the doctor too often. it's set at a limit where the insurer will not cover that portion. so a 500 deductible means no matter what, you will have to pay a maximum of 500 out of pocket in any medical situation.

A deductible is when the insurance company charges you for using the insurance policy

I’m pretty sure you don’t pay deductible for routine checkups, iirc you get 1 free annual checkup on most plans.

...

>so a 500 deductible means no matter what, you will have to pay a maximum of 500 out of pocket in any medical situation.

did you mean minimum here instead of maximum?

pretty sure that's dependent on what kind of plan you get put on. regardless, even after you get your annual checkup and you have an issue, later on you're still going to get charged for another checkup or a referral to a specialist.

>A deductible is when the insurance company charges you for using the insurance policy

Now it is clear for me. Thank you.

if the deductible is 500, up until the maximum of 500 is your cost. so if a checkup costs 300 dollars, that's below your deductible, you pay the full 300 out of pocket. if the cost is 550 for a checkup, the insurer will pay 50 dollars, and you pay the maximum 500.

I ended up paying $50 that the insurance company didn't cover and the $450 deductible +$30 for meds. So my broken arm cost me $530 in total, these are estimates though i can't remember the exact number

And instead of this deductible you pay a monthly price to your insurance company, right? Can you show some examples please? Kind of x monthly price has y deductible.

And what about movies like "Braking Bad". Why insurance didn't pay for a cancer? Different insurances have a different amount of a health problems, right?

his insurance company would cover most of his cancer costs, he did it so that his son and wife would be well off and afford everything else

>his insurance company would cover most of his cancer costs, he did it so that his son and wife would be well off and afford everything else

But there was another scenes in the film.
So how it all works?
