I thought Romanians were Slavs.

Romanian is quite close to vulgar Latin, what do you mean by that?

Vulgar latin, Balkan sprachbund, and slavic loanwords

we're las creaturas de europa

How has life been as a Romanian?

I mean compared to Modern Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese it’s kinda different.

it isn't, though.
i can understand mostly and i know portuguese and spanish

It's isolated from other Latin languages, resulting in different influences. The core latin element was kept unchanged ever since the formation of our people, meaning the changes that occurred in Western Europe are not present in our language. As a result of that, 77% of Romanian is similar to Latin, from a lexical point of view (sauce ethnologue.com/language/ron).

Nice

differnet path

"cor meum" in latin is heart which gives italian "cuore", spanish "corazon", portuguese "coracao"

but in romanian heart is "inima" which comes from latin "anima" (to animate)

many such cases

Are you guys teached spanish in school? Here majority of schools only teach english

we can choose between spanish or french but we have to take mandatory english.

acually *cor or *cord, dunno why google translate added "meum"

beuatiful language you have there

anima became "alma" in portuguese and spanish and means soul

Back in my school spanish and english was mandatory and only french was optional
Lot of girls in French class

In here the word for soul (suflet) comes from the latin word for breath, I believe
Even with the slavic words we've taken, we seem to have turned metaphors into terms

most slavic loanwords are used for emotions, weather and housekeeping

also pussy (pizda) is slavic but dick (pula) is latin

which means slavs got cucked

funny. dick is "pila" in portuguese and it doesnt appear in spanish

You choose Spanish, right?
Right?

;_;

Gipsy language mix

Lol here the slur would be "pica"

Romanian is quite understandable, at least to read, hearing it and understand it is the thing

i had both. one in school and the other in cambridge courses but had better grades in spanish from how similar it is to my own language
