>have sent over 200 resumes
>haven't recieved a single mail or call
Fucking hell, why is it so difficult to get a fucking job without nepotism in this shithole?
Have sent over 200 resumes
It's like this all over. The only solution is to rise up and kill our slavemasters
I ask for some money from relatives and play the lottery every week in hopes of winning. One of those days it will work
have you tried resume writing service?
Lel, I used to be a NEET and told the jobcentre im depressed and need help finding work.
They are looking for a company for me now and they get tax cuts for hiring me, took me a month to get a nice job without looking myself.
We need to kill all boomers to make room in the job market tbqhwyf
I gave my resume to a job placement agency and they said it was perfect and they aren’t sure why nobody has even interviewed me yet
ill send you some of my positive thought waves to multiply the willed existence field of your willing the lottery concept to increase your chances of winning the lottery. but you have share 10% with me please. the higher the % i get the more thought waves ill introduce and feed into "matrix"
Yep, but still nothing comes.
I'm with you bro. fucking hell
>be me
>gradute with BS in Physics
>learn that it's a meme degree
>send 200+ resumes to some type of technical job that will pay half decently
>settle for mediocre job making $15/hour
I'm depressed and have wasted my life. I don't care anymore.
Of yeah
That's a guaranteed investment
Keep doing that
On F1 visa. Have sent over 600 applications, only got 30 calls. Landed a job but yeah h1b is modern slavery.
>sign up for resume service, never hear anything back after months
>apply to hundreds of different jobs and only get a handful of interviews, none of which end up hiring me
>a former co-worker offers to put in a good word for me at his current job, immediately get an interview and get offered the job the same day
Boss didn't even ask me any interview questions, just said that he was willing to hire me because he trusted my co-workers judgment. Literally what the fuck.
Its whatever, its a trend so I wouldnt worry about it
What trend? Where did I go wrong?
That's nothing new. It's the same here. Sure you can get hired by any restaurant/service jobs....but forget getting a corporate/career style job unless you know someone.
My dad is blue collar, and my mom doesn't have any connection here in the US.
I focused on studying, graduated with 3.6GPA, lab experience, but failed to make any connections or do a industry internship (couldn't get one anyways). So, my education is going to waste.
This shit is rigged.
If you went to university and left without having at least one (1) contact then you just wasted your money, son.
Very wise use of money!
Pretty much exactly what happened to me. I went to college and focused on my degree and played some sports. I didn't even think to do an internship because nobody ever told me it was beneficial. 4.5 years of good grades for nothing. Here's the silver lining....join the military as an officer. That's what I am doing right now.
I have a medical condition that keeps me from enlisting, if I didn't have it, I would have enlisted a long time ago.
I'm thinking of doing a masters in mech. Eng., and trying to get an internship. But I'm afraid that masters because they are expensive, and I will just get in more debt that I won't be able to pay with the inevitable minimum wage job that I will get. Because I won't get any good jobs ever.
This is what I did. After I graduated, I spent 6 months of intense applying, HR calls, etc... and I got ZERO responses. I figured, why don't I go back and do a masters. I looked to Europe and I got accepted within 3 weeks to a central European university. Over there a masters is only 2 years and a fraction of the price. My home university would have charged me 45K. I paid all together; 2500 Euros for my masters. I suggest you look into that.
How was job hunting afterwards?
Also, what about the language? How did you manage to move there and finish a masters in a country that doesn't speak english.
P-physics is a meme degree?
It's still wrong. I didn't go to the university to make friends.
Once you get post-grad school of any kind you set yourself apart from the over saturated pool of bachelors degrees. You get a hell of a lot more calls and people interested in you. Typically you can get an international student grant from whichever country you choose. It's not much, but it covers your accommodation. They paid from my student housing until I found my own. The visa is covered because of the student status and MOST importantly, I would say 75% of all masters programs are taught in English. It is customary and they do appreciate you to take their free class in the local language - That was my favorite part btw.
It is, if you are in the middle of one. Please change it. Don't go down like I did.
Switch it to engineering or double major in something useful. There is lots of accounting jobs everywhere, and they pay well.
Physics is intellectual challenging, and a good hobby, but it's not a good career. Unless you are willing to sell your soul to academia.
Academia and research in general is soul crushing. You can't even be a teacher with a BS in physics, you need more education to get a license. Many people dodge the whole thing by saying that you can go anywhere you want with a physics degree. Basically they are saying it's worth jack shit, and you can end up anywhere, from minimum wage to good jobs if you get a master/PHD.
What kind of jobs you are looking for?
What qualifications do you have? I don't about degree.
I sent around 100 and found really nice job (without nepotism) although I don't have college degree. From my point of view, foreign languages (besides English ofc) and portfolio are nice advantages.
