Genes are not magic, they directly code for the development of different aspects of your body. Take two kids who are healthy. One of them has a larger neural count and a lower neural density than the other one. I can almost guarantee you that the former will have a much better chance of accomplishing greater achievements in life compared to the latter (unless the latter kid has specific mutations for an even more efficient neural structure).
