On a side note, I've always gotten along extremely well with Russians online. Top lads. Of all the countries I've hung out with, they're surprisingly pretty chill/fun. Even if they did receive rights and all that, the fate of minority groups often is that they simply get eventually absorbed into the mainstream because they have greater opportunities that way, even with no mal-intent.
In WW2 you took a bunch of land from us, including our second largest city, that you did pretty much fuck all with, except for maybe Hanko which had a lease anyway. Then you forcefully moved people out of their homes, further russified places like Estonia, and today Karelians are a small minority in their own Republic.
I wish we could get along but it seems kind of improbable.
