Brainlet here - how much money is that?

$400,000 in profit. That's only one of my positions. Also up 200k on short timeframe, 60k on an eth short. Overall up 650k this week.

why are you not selling?

Sell what?

Nice - grats then. Here I am struggling to pay for a holiday ;_;

To be fair, I wouldn't have the balls to trade leverage

Grow a pair. I started trading with $1000 last year, now I have 3 million. Buying altcoin bags is literally pleb tier, shorting is where it's at.

because he is larping, idiot

I should play testnet too, n1 op, you are probably ready for real money now.

nice, i hope i can become like you

lul

lul

>everyone is broke like me
>how can you make profit when everything is down??!!
>sir what alts should i buy
>when moon??!

Where do you live?

larp thread, abort

>shorting is where it's at.
just shorting? don't you long as well?

He said $
And why? Are you looking to beg him for crypto?

I do, but most of my profit has been with shorts. I fundamentally believe crypto is worthless and will crash hard, so I don't want to be very exposed on the long side

how did you learn TA?

don't forget to cash out, then

literally stare at a chart all day, recognizing price structures/fractals that repeat themself during upswing and downswings. only using patterns things like wedges (rising/falling/broadening) and volume. no magic hocus pocus

Congrats senpai, I recently sold all my ETH and 410 after falling for the HODL!! meme for too long. People called me larper over fucking 100k, this board is pathetic.

I'd like to know how do you managed to understand how margin trading/Bitmex works?

Or if you can hand me some useful material to study. I want to start with 20k long or short depending on the market.

Damn 3 millions is my goal I'm 30x away from that, I'd set me for life.

you must have had extensive training. please share your secret.

Do you have a life outside of that?

Do you have an internet connection in your home??
Can you spend at-least 1 hour per day??

what is it about bitmex that you find hard to understand? do you mean the site itself, or how to be profitable in trading?

I didn't really study any material. my main advantage is not getting stuck in a bullish mindset when everyone is else is become euphoric. if you can identify the euphoria on twitter you're already 10 steps ahead of everyone else.

no. life is on hold until I have 5-10m, then i'll start a new life. my old life with pleb friends will never be the same, they just want handouts.

Please give me some tips on how to get started. Is $1000 a good start?

No, just curious as to his VPN/cashout process using Bitmex in the US (if that is where he is)

not US

Bummer. Do you have any know-how as to how to successfully use bitmex as a US citizen without issues?

jelly yes. Good job OP

Bitmex doesn't give a shit, they just ban the US to cover their asses. I know US traders who only use the vpn to sign up and then never again. No issues whatsoever

I did that and now have account issues (accessed once without my VPN).

that's the first I've heard about that. I know someone who got caught being a US citizen on bitmex because he had to recover his 2FA through the ticket system, and they just made him withdraw everthing. They don't steal your coins

I feel like I know who you are. Do you have a crypto twitter account with decent following?

My account has been disabled and I can’t even access the ticketing system. Haven’t been sure if I should sign up again and submit a ticket like “oh, I was on vacation in the States”

I wonder about your risk management. do (did) you go all in on your trades (especially at the beginning), or only smaller position sizes?

>only posts when he wins
Show your history and we will have a laugh

I did. I went into this yolo-style, go big or go home. I was also convinced that the bubble would pop much faster, so in my mind I had a very limited time to make money.

In the first weeks of trading I would regularly lose 10-20% of my capital in a day, and then double or triple it the next day. I took large positions but quickly cut the losses if they went against me. But then when it goes with me, I let it run.

I'm not pretending that every trade I do is profitable. I take a lot of losses of 50k regularly. But my profitable trades are bigger than that.

Small losses, big losses, small wins, big wins. Eliminate the big losses and you profit

I see. Came to that conclusion after a few weeks of trading.
take 10-20% losses on your losing trades, but cash in on the winning ones.
Just a bit afraid of a losing streak eating me up

I have 500$ available on bitmex.

How do you get a position of 1$ on BTC equals 1$ in my PnL ?

Brainlet who don't understand the leverage on bitmex.

>he wants to become a larper

Attached: 1533557738696.jpg (750x715, 28K)

short 1 btc worth of contracts, so 6100 contracts.

the btc in your balance will lose value though, so to make 1$ net profit per 1$ bitcoin drops you should additionally short the value of your balance.
so 500 + 6100
the 500 will lock in the current price of your coins, and the 6100 is your net short

so 6100 in contract with x1 leverage?
ty

you should look at leverage differently. leverage just controls how much margin (btc) is assigned to a position, aka how much btc you can lose if you get liquidated. it doesn't change how much you will profit - you must increase the contract amount to profit more.

Do you have a normal job or do you spend your entire day in front of the computer?

do you go over 10x? if so, what's your max lev?

And a second question

How do you deal with bitmex being literally unusable anytime the price moves a bit? Like unable to place/close orders, stops don't work or even the whole fucking site does not load.

Lol

spend an entire day growing ass cancer

I used to, but not anymore. I never used isolated margin (like 10x, 20x), but I would go 10x with my whole account on cross margin. I would always cut the loss way before it got anywhere close to the liquidation price, so the leverage doesn't really matter that much

So can you give me the rundown on why you knew 7305 was a good position? Did you simply wait for the downtrend confirmation after the ~8400 fractal? Any details?

yes jelly etc., looking to start

Use the Close and Market buttons on your actual position to exit the position without delays. And just get the fuck out of a losing position when things go crazy in the wrong direction. I have probably lost around 100k from the website crashing. It sucks, but we just have to live with it.

check em.

Okay thanks.

Is CEX.IO good? Because as a forex trader, this I understand more.

I had a smaller short from 8200 which I took profit on at 7700. Price kept going down for 6 red dailies, which was a very bad sign. Looked to me like a top was in. Then I saw this (img) and figured things could get really ugly. Shorted the top at 7400 there with 1.5m Then we broke down I added 1m extra to it. Told myself I would let this position ride and just hedge it on another account when we have bounces. Price never came close to my entry again.

Never used em, don't know anyone that does

Thanks for the replies, I actually believe you. I can't see your open position on the statistics page but I guess it is only registered from the bitmex chat.

What timeframes do you normally look when checking for patterns. Csn I follow your trades anywhere(twitter, bitcoinmarkets etc)

What statistics page?

>What timeframes do you normally look when checking for patterns.
4hr/12h/daily/3d

>twitter, bitcoinmarkets etc
nope

nice
I am up about 1.2 mil on my BTC/USD short. I am holding short since 7500-ish. We go to 5555, kinda meme level, and good support, then bounce.
Hard being chad sometimes.

coinfarm.online/position/position_realtime.asp

Meant that one

Did the command but don't see anything on the website.

Cool I see it there now
says your bitmex id is ax2 and open price of 7306

did you really start with 1000? How long ago?

september 2017.

Holy shit, that wasn't a LARP! I was obviously LARPing.
I hope you have good wife and a lot of kids OP.

Congrats, I started much earlier and only reached ath of 1.25MM (900k now, or 600k after taxes...)

You have serious talent

thanks

If you ever feel like making some chatroom or something I'd be very interested.

btw I think you are close to top 10 on bitmex leaderboard by ROE

you do ta? like how the fuck do you know when to get out of positions or enter?

I would have been #1 at some point, but I withdrew and re-deposited several times so my ranking is screwed.

might make a twitter at some point, but nothing right now

Great stuff man, hope I can achieve your level one day. Sounds like you're a trend trader with good risk management and you know how to play your winners well.

Sounds easy when just put like that, of course it's not easy to have to cut losers and let your winners run. But that's what it boils down to.

Nice!

stop posting this. you are going to fuck it up. shit head from plebbit browse here fo info like this. If everyone knows about it wont work

What wont work? But yeah you are right, I will delete it now

Actually just did the maths. Initial deposit was 0.14 btc and realized profit (without this current position) is 191 btc, which is an ROE of 136400%, #1. But many others had their leaderboard position screwed by deposits, so the actual #1 is probably a lot higher than this.

Maybe that user uses it for some kind of Implied Volatility measure? Not sure if you trade options.

Damn cant delete it anymore

That is sick, makes me feel like shit with my 5000% returns. That is like 2010 bitcoin adopter returns level

What’s your price target for this short user

Don't worry friend I added a piece of tape on my monitor so I wont see it :^)

C'mon bro open up a secret group and teach us to make successful trades.

Demo account

OP went balls deep a few times in the beginning probably the market was easier back then. I'm not sure you can make bank still starting with little capital

It was especially hard for me in the beginning because there was a massive bubble and I thought it would crash any second. So I was shorting al the way up and had to be very careful to not blow up my account.

I expect we see 4k in the next few weeks, but I might lose patient and close in the mid to low 5000s

Attached: mil.png (594x365, 29K)

Bitmex has a testnet where you can trade with a toy money stack to learn the ropes. It's very good: testnet.bitmex.com

The market's not any easier or difficult to trade in than it would've been last year. It's just than you can't just buy bitcoin at any price and hold to make large sums. This is because it's stop having such a strong uptrend.

There's always a trend happening on some time frame. What I call trends, OP (and many other traders) calls "fractals" or flags. He trades them very well.

I'm posting it on reddit as we speak mang, I wan to to see that sweet karma coming.

interesting, so where do you see btc going for the next few months? do you even pay attention to the ETF meme or do you think if it mattered TA would be already showng it?

At best this is a larp, at worst this is a dumbass gambling degenerate who hit it lucky but is bound to lose every penny he has sooner or laater

rip

Do you find it harder to take long positions on bitcoin because of your opinion on it, or would you be able to buy in when you saw conditions were changing towards the upside?

did you close it mr genius pants?

nah I opened a long on my other account to hedge it, so I was neutral.

Attached: 7bba1550d044f292ccbdac2177399e59.png (1070x42, 61K)

Ohh shit, those shorts are getting rkt

>Do you find it harder to take long positions on bitcoin because of your opinion on it

Right now I can put it into perspective better and I realize it won't just drop 50% in a day. But I still don't think I will ever hodl coins for the long term

Is it a good idea to use 2 accounts for this purpose? Why not just long the futures and short the swaps?

This Bitmex pump is being made with a guy that has atleast 10M to throw on it, very nice, it's the first time I visited Bitmex and I'm already precumming.

I would avoid doing this if you're new, you can easily get chopped up. Better take your profit and look for the next trade.

But if you're trading big sizes it can be useful to let one position run and scalp on another account

(op here, might have an other id because IP just reset)

as for why not use futures and swaps: in hindsight I should have shorted the futures. But I don't like shorting futures if I don't get the exact top, because then it's hard to get out of the position quickly (because there's less liquidity)

>Im not larping g-guys I swear

Attached: 1469309195567.jpg (238x276, 10K)

another wrecked dumbass OP
