Vocab isn't the only thing that makes up a language. sanskrit vocab in tamil language is modified to sound like tamil vocab. They treat it as a tamil word in every sense of the word "treat". Nearly 99% of conspicuous sanskrit vocab is removed.

I have plenty of Telugu friends here and Tamil friends in Andhra/Telengana. What they tell me is that the order of lingual importance is Urdu/Hindi>English>Telugu in Telengana and Telugu>=Hindi>English>Urdu in Andhra. I’m assuming this is true from what you say.
