I learned when I was a kid but I've completely forgotten how.

I can float on my back
do i pass

same here, a few years ago I had to swim from the beach to an island and I found it ridiculously hard, I could basically only dog paddle no matter how hard I tried to remember how breast strokes worked

my gf taught me the basics about swimming

Swimming is mandatory here, but every year dozens of foreigners drown in our cold lakes and fast flowing rivers.

Swimming is part of our primary school curriculum.

>imagine being over 5 and unable to swim

>there are adults out there who don't know how to swim
...do you not even have rivers to swim in or what?

I learned the basics from my parents. Swimming courses were mandatory in mid-school and we were graded on it, which polished my skills a lot.

Go to places like Jamaica and Barbados, none of the local know how to swim despite living on a fucking tiny island

really makes you think

Attached: pepe=.png (250x250, 3K)

are these people swiss or tourists?

this

sure but in those places people probably don't have a lot of free time?

this. wtf.

...no

>Flag
>Love to swim
Skinny dipping from sauna after getting hammered with your mates is the life

this. Here you would be seen as a retard if you told people that you can't swim

dafuq would I know? why?

We had 6 years of mandatory swimming in school
We even learnt how to rescue someone in distress at sea

>Skinny dipping from sauna after getting hammered by your mates is the life
This sounds wrong on so many levels.

I swam competitively for like 12 years. Was good enough to get on a decent college team but I didn't try in school, so no one would take me.

I grew up in San Diego, I’ve been swimming since I was like 4 and I’ve been swimming in the ocean since I was like 8. I’ve stepped on a sting ray once, had to evacuate the water because of sharks twice, and been caught in a riptide twice too

Ye I swim. Only time it helped me was in Doodh Sagar falls, Goa.

Imagine drowning in pussy juice.

ぬぬぬ

Yeah I was kinda forced to learn

congrats

that's bullshit m8 and you know it. Only american nogs can't swim to save their lives

Yes, but I'm afraid to go to the pool even that would be good for my spine

Attached: 1559435555708.jpg (3024x4032, 1.1M)

I'm not a fast swimmer but I can swim, like literally any human being who can move his legs.

holy shit are there actually people who cannot swim without having a genuine reason like palsy

go there and find out yourself bitch, its true

I wouldn't drown, but my technique and speed is shit and embarrassing.

>would you drown if you jumped into the deep end of the pool
Almost happened to me when I was a kid. I got better since then.
Same here. Also my stamina is laughable.

that's teh best swimmer of africa youtube.com/watch?v=GYl2CoN6crY

I'm thinking of going to the swimming pool very early in the morning to get better. Hopefully the staff won't be the same as in my regular hours. I have a reputation to uphold.

Attached: 1557099602620.png (788x699, 24K)

I know better than to go anywhere near a pool.

of course I can swim

yeah, i can swim, its like riding a bicycle, you cant forget it and dont even think about it while doing it

the only places that have an excuse are where there's a lot of sharks or other dangers, but i dont think the carribean is especially dangerous

For the niggers that can't swim.
Fill your lungs with air, as much as you can and hold it. You literally can't drown like that.
Now that you are just floating instead of being a spastic like usual try slight moves.
Now that you are calm and slowly getting the hung of it, breath.

parents here teach kids how to swim by literally just throwing them in the water
instinct will kick in and they'll start swimming (usually)

I can swim about 2 km in about 45 minutes. Not very fast but I'm a bit of a big boy these days.

yes, had swiming for 9 years in school. But then again, i haven't been in water for over a decade...

I can swimm but I have always been a bad swimmer. wouldnt drown in a pool though.

my dad put me in swimming lessons relatively early on. at my summer camp we spent an hour in the pool every day. also did sailing camp on a lake in the country. been in the atlantic, pacific, north sea and the mediterranean but never visited the canadian coast. i live on an island in a river but i'm a big fan of the shoreline, i'd like to move there. the salt air is invigorating

its almost illegal not to be able to swim
you learn it in primary school to some degree, and you need a swimming diploma from real swimming classes outside of school to go into deep public pools
of course they only ask children and they dont actually need to carry it around

my guys it's easy to swim, but if you wonna learn go near the short end and learn to maneuver in the water. after you get the hang of floating in water try to use your legs to hold yourself up and move around.
Alternatively, look at how niggas near you do it and copy that shit. but the most important part is being comfortable in water and knowing your limits.

Attached: The duck is me.png (632x462, 436K)

not sure if you can answer this but are the public pools pretty accessible for foreigners

no, they has a sign "no foreigner allowed"
',:^\

This. Basically everyone does swimming in primary school. I also did lifeguarding shit.

based

I swimmed in pic related, but with floaters because I was too much of a pussy, other than that I've only ever swimmed in pools

Attached: Ik-Kil-Cenote.jpg (1024x685, 579K)

>swimlets itt
you don't need to be a michael phelps level swimmer but if you would unironically drown if you went in the deep end i would push you in

Also I can't fucking manage to make the lower part of my body to be on the same level as my upper part, my legs are always sinking

they're supposed to sink while you're standing in one place, they naturally rise when you're actively swimming somewhere

a pool and probably the pic in question here look like fresh water which provides slightly less buoyancy than sea water, floating around in various poses is easier in the sea

The only thing I can't do is swim fast. I just don't know the technique. Everything else I'm proficient at.

I felt my penis twitch looking at this.

Lots of kebabs are drowning in Sweden every year but every Swede can swim. We even have to learn how to use icepicks to get us up from the water if we ever fall thru the ice.

Based Ägir killing the kebabs.

source?

i have never swimmed and yes i would drown in a pool. I m not german,i m greek. Germans learn how to swim at school. In my greek school we had no swimming lessons.

I used to be on the swim team, but I still get scared there's a shark in the pool

Attached: 1559194575601.jpg (920x613, 54K)

Swimming is mandatory in Swedish schools.
Also ice jumping with ice picks as user said above.

Not to mention that there's lakes and rivers everywhere. If you can't swim you gotta be some kind of retard. Or a refugee.

Drown, i never learned, i never did any sort of sports, i exercised in the library

never got how you need to to use icepicks untill i found out people cant pull themselfs up

You are required to be able to swim to pass ground school. You go swimming once a week. You also need to be able to climb out of a hole in the ice. Nearly everyone knows how to swim before they go to school though. It's like not knowing how to ride a bike. If you're over 5 years old and you can't swim people will think you're special.

Attached: 20150213_140522.jpg (768x843, 160K)

>never got how you need to to use icepicks untill i found out people cant pull themselfs up

It's harder than it looks. You become very heavy since water will add extra weight to your clothes, and the water is also freezing cold.

yes, we have ice here sometimes too
and its weaker too
ive fallen through twice

>You also need to be able to climb out of a hole in the ice
lol wtf I mean I get why but isn't that a little bit extreme?

I'm a good swimmer. I can literally see the sea from my window. It would be a shame if I didn't know how to swim.

What? Everyone can fucking swim!

Nah not me

>Norwegian education

Nope. Kids falling through ice is very common here in the north. And knowing how to act and get out is a life saver. Not to mention that ice swimming is pretty popular as well.

Attached: 123ewdf.jpg (1800x1198, 723K)

Im not a nigger, so yes i can swim.

Same in all of the Nordic countries. Swimming is part of the basic skill you need to know.

Yes I can swim
I don't think I've ever met someone over 10 who can't swim

No, that's actually how I learned to swim. My cousin tossed me into the deep end and I lived.

It's not like it's complicated either. Just move your limbs, nigga.

Sure. My family had a sail boat so I learned very early and spent every summer near water. I even did competitive swimming for a couple of years as an early teen.

I learned by just jumping in to the deep end of a pool and struggling back to the ledge. Eventually I figured out how to swim properly.

>isn't that a little bit extreme?
No? I learned how it feels to fall through ice and how to get up, get warm and survive. Feels like a pretty darn good lesson to me.
Also learned how to save someone else who has fallen in, how to warm those people up etc and first aid and all that.
In 4th grade we had our first class in a warm pool. In 5th and 6th class we had real life training in the frozen lake outside our school. Was around -20 when we had our classes. The military was there for some of them, other times specialist teachers.

Attached: DSC_1224-vert.jpg (940x7024, 2.17M)

It makes perfect sense in a frozen environment. If they died every time the ice broke their mortality rates would be insane. It's not like there are a whole lot of them anyways.

Yep. We had the local fire department with us during our classes. Those days were really fun actually

Attached: DSC_0770.jpg (1000x669, 155K)

I like swimming

You get it. Most people here grow up playing on ice. Sports or just messing around. Shit happens, gotta be prepared.

Is... is that a special needs class?

Attached: 15378493.jpg (1194x900, 136K)

Yes it is. Everyone's gotta learn.
ALLA KAN! ALLA ORKAR! (skolans motto där jag gick kek)

that's very hot

can I get a quick rundown on how many of you have fallen into ice water?
all of you? most of you? half of you? some of you?

I dont know how to swim, and i will never learn beccause i've never been in a beach or river.

Attached: 910.png (680x677, 711K)

post more one-pieces you niggers

>never been to the beach
my condolences. I only give a fuck about life so I can visit it again.

I can swim well enough. Learned how to when I was 7.
I don't swim very often since I'm fat and quite hairy.

fat makes you more buoyant but hair ruins your aquadynamics

>almost all one-piece porn is JAV
>don't like JAV
life ain't fair

Well according to google and results from the Swedish Emergency reports 1 our of every 10 people in Sweden goes through the ice at some point in their life.
I did when I was 17, took a shortcut across a frozen lake, stepped on a weak spot and then I was cold and wet.

>dated a qt asian chick with a swimming pool for multiple years
>never put on a swimsuit
I'm still mad

life is suffering

I think I would drown.
I can more or less swim but in a situation like that i woudl panic and die.

I wish I could learn

Attached: 612145749.jpg (120x120, 5K)

1/10 Swedes fall into a frozen lake or river etc once in their life. But only around 14 die every year. Our classes work, that's for sure.
