I watched some videos right now and personally I think they're shoehorning liberal agendas like a more diversified gender equal workplace or promoting lax immigration policy for better productivity, but the content of the video is so bad, i barely learn anything and ends up making me question their whole purpose of "research".
One example is the video called The crisis of Leadership, which its case scenario is 50% liberal gibberish and Save the Planet talks more than tackling the subject itself. Another video is Brain's Executive Function, which is questionable in my opinion.
TED talks dropped a lot in terms of quality. If they are going to make case studies then there is nothing wrong trying to weigh both the positives and negatives, but instead they just sugarcoat the whole issue and pretend it's all sunshines and rainbows then be oblivious about the side effects of human action or inaction.
Elitist doucheoisie fest. Also very good at brainwashing Millenials into thinking that Google and Co. are cool.
Lucas Scott
They're shit. Nothing interesting ever came out of that garbage.
Caleb Jones
It sounds like a bunch of pretentious fags exaggerating things for entertainment value, like listening to a tabloid.
Julian Mitchell
Some are inspiring, but most of the talks are made by people who don't really know what they are talking about. Probably because they are aiming for normies, so it does't need to be that accurate (or even have real data).
What the fuck is he doing there? This just made TED so unreliable.
Easton Morris
I used to watch these in high school, during the English classes. I liked the one with Ken Robinson, mostly because I hated school and would have rather studied from home. Outside of that, boring liberal shit.
Jose Cook
i wouldn't say i'm a Jow Forumstard or anything but those videos make my skin crawl. my personal kryptonite
Tyler Howard
thanks, will take a look when I have time
Luke Evans
Dude, i watched 1 min and 7 seconds of the first video, and i can't take it anymore. It's too cringe.
Luis Martinez
I usually run away from those TED talks about political and social "issues". I prefer the ones about technology.
I watched some TED videos when I was younger and I do not remember TED talks being this too liberal. It does feel like what and said, most talks feels so bullshit that there's probably no factual evidence supporting their data.
Isaiah Jenkins
Ohh man, the two of the spam reply made me cry. And i am a full grow adult...
Scratch the entertainment value thing, they're all trying to shill some foundation or program. It's a sales pitch.
Parker Ward
Yeah, i did. Lost my shit when he did the nazy army.
Jackson Wood
I tried watching it, and I couldn't continue further. It's too illogical and sexist towards the men as if men never shed their blood and tears to keep this world running for centuries.
I'd rather go watch Thoughty2 if only he is not out of content.
Ian Gutierrez
Maybe it's because I might be younger, maybe it's because my perception of liberal bullshit applies to a wide rage of things, maybe because I was lurking Jow Forums at the time. Nothing wrong with Jow Forums, though...
Anthony Rodriguez
There is obviously nothing wrong with Jow Forums despite the whole Jow Forums treating pol/ as the local Boogeyman, but only as long as you don't bring your political beliefs outside Jow Forums.
James Moore
I keep it shut.
Caleb Morales
>hear TED talks are very professional and interesting conferences, generally about state of the art of one field or another, kinda like international medical conferences where they show new tech or procedures for their fields >YouTube algorithm for some reason starts suggesting the talks out of nowhere >a guy responding to spam mail with le quirky reddit tier jokes >a guy sperging about American state and city flags >some other faggot talking about his daily routine I'm now convinced TED talks are improv shows with randos off the street that try to see how long can they grab people's attention while talking about random useless shit
Noah Flores
Popsci Capitalist garbage
Ayden Morgan
TED is the perfect example of what the author wrote about in pic related. Speculating about whether or not TED talks are about social engineering would be venturing into Jow Forums territory, but what we know for sure is that events like TED specifically caters to upper-middle and upper class people to make them feel less guilty about being the haves eating their organic kale salads while perched on a mountain of have-nots. The book isn't hard to find for free and it goes into more detail about how corporations use shit like TED to keep their positions in society.
Dude, they are aiming for the majority of the people. While some people like to stay in touch with the cutting edge stuff, they also like to have a good time with some good autism. Is not the reason why you are on Jow Forums?
Henry Clark
Based and breadpilled, comrade
Anthony Gomez
It's not my kind of entertainment. Same reason I don't watch comedy shows for entertainment. If you find them entertaining, great for you, I'm just not interested on 99% of topics that show up on those talks
Daniel Morris
>What the fuck is he doing there? Redpilling the audience by showing that any retard can get on stage and verbally shitpost for 20 minutes so maybe don't take all these fag "entrepreneurs" at TED so seriously.
Grayson Brooks
There's a difference between TED and TEDx any retard can go to TEDx since it's locally organized but the other one is the official one and it's a lot harder to get in
