By "the 1000 year empire", I meant the 3rd Reich, not the 1st. HRE was based as well, but I prefer the German Empire since it was an actually unified nation state, albeit at the cost of alienating the Austrians, who are Germans by every measure. In its time, rapid progress was made and Germany was in its prime concerning global power. Everything that happened past June 1914 was a mistake, but everything that happened past Summer 2015 was pure hell.
Weimar was destined to fail and the Nazis were cringe.
