It's a trap, you get fired for "unrelated" reasons if you use any of it.
Requires approval of manager who won't give you more than 15; one holiday in the summer of 10 das and ~5 around Christmas
>take vacation
>get fired
or
>dont take vacation because swarmed with projects
>get hired with a unlimited vacation policy
>take a year long vacation after the first week of work
>sue the shit out of them if they fire me
Software engineers make up a tiny sub percent of the workforce and aren’t representative of the current status of labor norms. Plus, most of these generous pto perks by Tech start ups assume you wouldn’t use them, and often pile up a bunch of tasks on you to make it hell to actually take more than 4 weeks vacation. The Euros get that by law for any full time non-gig Job by default, and some of them are legally required to take that minimum entitled time off. That place would be one the more generous side of progressive tech start ups if they allowed you to take a straight month off a year within your first few years and not get shit / punished for it
the fuck do you even know about it retarded poor fags. i work in high tech and it is real. of course you don't get 'unlimited' time but nobody is going to 'fire' you or tell you how many you can take. literal kids.
another idiot
>swarmed with projects
that can happen but it is not like you are not getting a decent number of days off a year
>hurr durr it is shit, my life is shit and i want yours to be shit too.
Who cares about labor norms faggot, he is posting about a specific industry.
You are all a bunch of damaged lunatics I swear.
>be math student with intense cs background
>goal in life is to go into academia and do research
>could just sell out and get a relatively fulfilling and interesting life like this instead
it's so fucking tempting
you should do what you think will make you happy
could always do one and drop back into the other if it wasnt appealing
If tech start ups can provide unlimited vacations, why can't McDonald's and Walmart?
