I am having ugly debates with people around me regarding the battle of btc against altcoins.
I am more an altcoin kind of dude, and I consider them an improvement of btc.
I need a back- up here. Anyone else into alts?

You right OP, the goal of alts is to improve and diversify the bitcoin concept. However, within the altcoins you have those which are fading over time. Only those with unique features, algorithms and goals survived and are up and running.
Btw what coin are you into?
Dunno, currently I am holding several ones.
Have some ltc, iota, etc and recently got some sky, cardano. Let's see.
Anyway I am arguing about the benefits of owning alts, rather than focusing only on btc. Some people around doesn't want to understand.
BTC Dominance almost reached it's top, so I went into alts yesterday.
Sure dude, that's the recipe for success.
Oh, you, newbies.
The only alt coin I like right now is Holo and I really like it. LINK is near the bottom and has potential for gains, too, as long as you can buy it under $0.25, but I wouldn't flip out and go all in because there are too many questions. Otherwise I'd just stick with BTC. When Oasis Labs/Ekiden Protocol/whatever they will cal it finally hits the market (ICO was private to big time silicon valley tech investors, who are in love with it as an oracle solution for smart contracts), I hope to buy a stack once it dips a bit from the initial pump. Those are all I can honestly recommend now.
also prefer alta
much more comfy, more interesting if you ask me
some of them are taking over the market with their ecosystem
Bitcoin will never be useful for anything other than
> Muh anti-jew coin
Which is stupid because all alts are better for that anyway. None of this shit makes sense. Dapps and alts are the future of the tech and nothing about alts is not just as good as Bitcoin but better.
Technological know- how is one of the main aspect I took in consideration when I chose to be more involved in alts, instead of Bitcoin. For me, the quick development of Skycoin shows how an altcoin should improve and grow.
So many updates came out regarding the work on ecosystem and its devices. For me, this was enough to go for it.
Network architecture and network transmission such as Skywire, Skyminer, CXO, Fiber, and many more
why a war between btc and alts?
btc is the first and the one, you can't ignore it even if you want it, and altcoins are altcoins, which should compete between them, not with btc. jez
One of the main reasons right now that alts and dapps are superior is that it may be possible to setup a passive income. Or at least a shitty one. At that point what does it matter if the coins go up. You essentially obtained a free paycheck a week.
Dapps, are going to make it a lot easier to sustain yourself as a content creator either by gaining an audience or by brute force by obtaining a lot of the coins yourself.
Voting power with steemit for example, getting a good trail or delegation of your voting power. NEO will have narrative where anyone holding 60 coins will get preferential treatment on the platform.
I'll gladly take a fucking passive income over just about anything. If Bitcoin goes down you get fucked out of money. If your coin providing a passive income goes down then you just get small pay checks for now for larger pay checks in the future if the coin recovers.
>BTC Dominance almost reached it's top
100% is the top sweetie. We're going to at least 60%. There is no catalyst in the next month that would stop alts from the contraction they've been undergoing for the past 6 months.
>B-b-but they're so cheap now!
Same thing everyone has been saying for the past 6 months too. They'll be cheaper next week too, and that still won't be a good time to buy.
Alts don't go bull until after BTC does. It has always been that way. Read the charts and weep. You don't like bitcoin and think it's boring, tough nookie. That's exactly why it runs first, because it's safe gains. Then people take the house money and throw it at alts.
>At that point what does it matter if the coins go up. You essentially obtained a free paycheck a week.
Because they pay out in their own currency and if the price tanks then your passive income goes poof. All masternode coins are awesome until people move on to the next thing and sell the coin into oblivion. It's no different than cryptocollectibles honestly.
>You don't like bitcoin and think it's boring, tough nookie.
The problem is that Bitcoin is easily targeted and since it effects the entire market its basically centralizing crypto as a whole. Its a single point of attack by government and big banks.
With this mindset you are basically a pro banks and big government boot licker. Bitcoin is a huge weakness to this technology. If they cant seize your wallet then they will just seize its value instead.

My point is that you can still earn something when the market is in a down trend. If you HODL and the coin goes down you just lose.
>Bitcoin, Bitcoin, Bitcoin the big boy? Definitely NO!
Actually here is the problem. Always going for the "safe net", because it's popular and, it works and bla bla.
But a healthy, competitive market need more altcoins. The cryptoworld need advanced technology, diverse solutions for things which Bitcoin couldn't find yet.
This is what we need now
the point in crypto is exactly this. up and downs are always present, this is how the market works and to know when to buy, when to hodl, when to go all in. it is not feasible and neither good for the market competition to have only one coin, such as btc.
Buying now Skycoin. I've been accumulating SKY lately.
Almost 80% of my portfolio is SKY alone, and I don't even care if it gets to 100%.
>I don't regret anything!!!!
When buying alts you are at least supporting an early adopter, and hopefully funding infrastructure in good projects.
When you buy btc you are supporting tech stagnation.
BCH is cool tho
Sell iota brother. Just listen to richard heart talk about that shit coin
