things dont have to keep going the way they are. in fact things are changing fast. ressources dont run out. we move to new ressources instead. world population will probably stagnate at 11 billion. when using agricultural technology to its full potential we can feed the world population many times over. the fucking netherlands is one of the largest food exporters in the world you know why? because of hightech farming. most of africa still relies on fucking manual labor. a drop in productivy of 10-20 due to global warming is a drop in the bucket when compared to the surplus gained from modern faming technology. as for energy nuclear power can last us for millenia. fusion pretty forever. fossile fuels only have to last till fusion is ready and coal and gas arent running out any time soon.

aside from fossile fuels a large amount of the ressources posted can be reused. there are also many ores simply not profitable enought to use previously but better technology and rising price will make them accessible.
asteroid mining is also in the works, still far far from viable but with aforementioned measures it should be easily possible to extend our supply for up to a century. look at how much the world changed during the last century.
the luxuries we have today will be primitive compared to the luxuries of tommorow.
africa might get hit hard by global warming. but agriculture is not the real money maker. there are many african countries currently heavily industrialising. the increase in capital allows for modernisation of agriculture. people think africa is this hopeless place but extreme poverty has been declining rapidly, famines have gotten rarer. the trend will continue even if global warming is a setback.
