The ex-colonies are in many way more different to Spain that Portugal even if we speak the same language, because of Portugal being located in Europe with basically the same climate, both within the EU, and with a close economical level per capita.
Richer: Italy.
We both have a distinct Mediterranean je ne sais quoi that is less present in France imo, making us more similar to Italy than to France.
