Fun fact: our tax system is intentionally designed to be annoying and obtuse so that we use specialist services
im so happy the state does that for us here. they just send a filled form to you to check, if everything is in order (99.8% the time it is) then you don't have to do anything.
Im more and more convinced that finland is actually the only 1st world country Out there
Americans have commercials for doing their taxes.
>23 and a half
>don't know how to cook anything that isn't grilled cheese or just frying an egg
>no clue how to do laundry
>absolutely no clue how to do taxes and didn't even do then last year
>never been to an airport alone
I was going through it today even though tax season has passed. I want to do it myself for next year but going through it made me feel like a brainlet.
I’m a NEET but I have some income and tax credits. Anyways I wasn’t taught anything about returning taxes in highschool or college and nothing in university.
>how to file my tax returns
Why does burgerland complicate everything?
??? They never taught us the fuck... What province are you from?
How so? I don't know much about taxes myself but here you just get mailed how much you have to pay
I just put everything into the free version of turbotax and it does everything for me :)
Does turbotax work in Canada? Do you have other income like dividends from stocks?
>Does turbotax work in Canada?
dunno
>Do you have other income like dividends from stocks?
No the free version they offer is only if your income is below like 40k iirc. So it only covers a basic lifestyle. If youre dealing with serious money and a lot of stocks 99% of automated methods are crap for it. Get an actual accountant.
man o man, i am stupid and have executive disfunction or something. so i didnt get my taxes done this year, and it turns out i fucked up my taxes last year and now im overwhelmed to get it all sorted out. last year i had two regulalr w2 jobs and 3 fucking 1099
s, and i used tax act last year cuz it was free for me and i guess i didnt do the 1099 forms right, like, i just didnt file them somehow. i dont have a pin and needed to imput all the numbers from last year to continue and the 1099s were making it not go through,i tried just putting zero for the 1099s and it worked, so goddamit i really fucked up, and now im scared to look into it because im poor and dont wanna deal with the late file penalties and two years of 1099 payments.. fuck me, and also i need to contact a couple places out of state that i worked that didnt send me this years w2s and it is just a pain in the ass trying to get them. arrrghghgh
I'm 32 and I can't do it myself
Not a surprise, since my cunt has the most complicated tax system in our solar system
UFile
If you don't itemize and you can't do your own taxes you're basically retarded.
pretty based country
I pay like $50 for turbo tax, and it does like 75% of the job, I just scan shit with my phone. Seems like a good deal tbqh
>filing taxes yourself
>not hiring a pro
Anyone stupid enough to do that deserves to be buttraped by The Man
Do you also pay someone to wipe your ass?
2019 is the first year where regular wageworker tax return forms in Poland were calculated by the Finance Ministry for you to verify and confirm online.
So filing my taxes (2018 was the year I entered workforce) took me literally 40 seconds including checking whether the income filed by my employers was correct (it was) and learning that I was going to be returned something around 90 euros and clicking "I confirm". And the best part is - even if the tax form calculated by the ministry is calculated wrong, the ministry takes full responsibility.
Later I phoned to laugh at my father that always said this knowledge will be CRITICAL for me. Turned out as soon as I seriously entered workforce with a permanent full time job this knowledge became useless.
i dont have a particularly complicated tax situation. just a single w2 each year and i havnt donated anything or have any tax break stuff going on. if i owned a small company id definitely have a pro though
Fair enough, but if you have for example a life insurance, it's deductible, up to a certain amount. I've learned that, because the tax accountant told me. All in all, I'm paying him ~$300 to reduce my taxable income by a good $20k, which results in a ~$7k tax return year after year. It's not the world, but you'd be surprised how much stuff is deductible.
good job polan, i'm pround of you
what if i told you filing taxes in it of itself is retarded and should be done automatically by the employer. inb4 b-but im self employed.
>26yo
>still don't pay taxes because I have never earned money in my life
Based leech
Say thank you to
I was evading taxes since I was 21.
This. Having to do anything more would be the end of me. I just can't be bothered to think how much I make a year and some silly things as tax cuts. It all sounds so boomerish.
dayum, you must make a shitload a year? im only making 19k after taxes x.x
Don't worry m8, my job is doing your taxes and the ones of another people, and charge you x10 the cost if you did it by yourself
>25 years old
>don't even have my driver licenses
My mom does it for me.
Because your employer doesn't know of other activities you do outside of work. Cash jobs, real estate, crypto investments, etc
>crypto
>investments
I don't disagree.
>1 hour every year cataloging invoices
pretty simple desu
