It's okay for a parent to quit working for a few years while the children are still young, but under normal circumstances housework absolutely does not take much time and that's a fact.

A housewife is supposed to be a married woman that takes care of the house, the laundry, the food and the hubby that might or not help, sure the job gets way heavier with kids constantly going around, running etc, but the house when you're not alone, even if you don't have kids, doesn't keep perfectly clean and ordered the whole day, and I don't know how big is your house, but there are homes bigger than others, being a parasitic leech as you said implies you don't do anything the whole day, I wouldn't call being a housewife or maid a parasitic leech, it's a job, paid or not

It's not really a job if it takes two hours a day, especially since you don't clean the whole house every day (there is really no need to). It isn't even half-time work, let alone a proper job, especially nowadays when there are washing machines, electric irons, vacuum cleaners, machines for washing dishes and so on. Meanwhile her husband will toil 8 hours a day, 5 or 6 days a week. There is quite a discrepancy, as you can see.
