Today is Swedish Independence day
I like that they make Jow Forumstards seethe
Their history is cool and Stockholm is unironically a nice city
We don't have an independence day. June 6th is flag day and it has only been around since 1983.
For such a small population, they have been quite impactful, overwhelmingly for good (especially during the 30 year war)

Swedes makes god tier trucks
They make good meatballs
We are very diverse
>has only been around since 1983
That's when it officially became the national day. The June 6th celebrations are way older than that.

Swedish-American here. We celebrate by barbecuing and hoisting the Swedish flag. We also do some stuff that Swedes would probably consider cringey so I won't talk about that.
Volvo makes great cars!
I like Sabaton.
Its not our independence day. Its the day of the Swedish flag and no one care about it except for school kids.
it started in the 1800's and only a smaaaall quantity of people celebrated it. It was created so that people would identify with the flag because even in the 60s the people who didn't live on coasts knew what the flag looked like.
oh please. you were pussies who couldnt pick a side lmao
As a teenager I looked up to Sweden as a place more civil and equal than the UK. Dreamed of living there one day.
You said to say something nice, so I'll spare how I view Sweden today. :DDDD
