Vietnam is a really interesting country, they probably could have become a fairly successful country, a strong Buddhist and Confucian background with rich farmland, especially in the south at the Mekong Delta but then the French hadn't come and fucked everything up. You literally can't name a single former French colony that isn't shit nowadays

I'd like to take a trip there but I am probably too much of a sheltered and anxious mess to have a good time on my own. I did read some /trv/ stories a while back about introverted people going to SEA and it still sounded kind of nice in its own way so who knows.
