>Thailand's opposition party was set to win
>Military junta suddenly stops the counting.
>Anti-junta activists beat up on the street by government agent
>Opposition leader tried for treason
>Junta leader installed once again
R.I.P Thailand
Thailand should abolish it military like Costa Rica
I remember Thais have an issue with Flip-flopping Juntas. Is this true?
Dont they have a King? Why doesnt He Tell them to fuck off?
Fuck tahi land. Free Pattani!
They can't even criticize their king. Thailand is basically a middle age country
It's All So Tiresome
so its a monarchy governing alongside a military dictatorship?
what could go wrong
The new guy is decedent and corrupt as fuck isn't he? Should have just crowned the lesbian.
hay thai user can you give us your opinion on this? I would imagine you have a better understanding on all of this.
based
Who cares?
many of us do not like the military at all and have quite a strong "indifferent" opinion about the current king.
but we can't criticize them openly because many of us don't want to get arrested and rot in jail for 15 years.
i just finished my military service and after i have some job experience for at least 2 years. i'm getting the fuck out of here.
damn sounds grim :(
stay safe user
I hope your transition to a new country goes smoothly
He's being dramatic. Elections here were still far more democratic than Cambodia, which just dissolved their opposition party wholesale. The truth is this shit doesn't really affect the average citizen, I still feel more free and safe here than I ever felt in America. And unlike that other Thai, I was able to dodge service.
Like all countries, everything suddenly gets miraculously easier when you have money.
Yeah its easy if you have money
which i was born in to CP family or Chang bro
I would understand that.
When Duterte swept Congress last month, the western media was already crying "dictatorship" and "autocracy" when really it was all done through a democratic vote
It's also worth noting that the military government is generally pro-Western/pro-EU/pro-USA/pro-foreign tourists. It's why America stopped criticising it a long time ago. I guarantee you most westerners would feel freer and safer here than their own countries. Yeah you can't talk shit about our fag king in massive public forums, big whoop. We still do it all the time at restaurants and at work. Besides that you're allowed to do so much more than most countries.
Americans don't give a single flying fuck about democracy, if they did they wouldn't still be allied with Saudi Arabia. They only care about interests. Does our junta general like America? Ok he's good. Does democratically elected Duterte prefer China? Ok he's bad.
what you describing is geopolitics in a nut shell
all countries have odd bed fellows
>when really it was all done through a democratic vote
Just like Erdogan!
Aw man, I would have expected more of a King.
