but this is a Jow Forums thing to say

Well, it isn't in many cases. It's alright for cursory understanding and in order to find other references though.

>teachers say they'll give a 0 to anyone who uses Wikipedia
>manually translate an article from English and copy the same sources as the Portuguese version
>get a good grade
What did they mean by this?

>nooooo STOOOOOOOOP you need to listen to her she has a phd!

lmao been there

>it isnt many cases
wikipedia has a very very high accuracy. something like 90%+ for the english wikipedia anyways. there are many studies on this.

I once edited wikipedia article on Fashington and it was fixed 3 minutes later and my IP was banned from editing

wikipedia is the biggest leap knowledge-wise in human history, understandable that so many people would be against it, led by establishment and academia

similar to parallel uses of technology like wikileaks, bitcoin, DIY, and democratic media

reminder that there is a downloadable rar file with all the articles on wikipedia. its like 70 GB to be used in case of the apocalypse. I think wikipedia and everything on libgen should be saved on a thumb drive incase of the apocalypse.

Jow Forums = redd*t

redd*t is against wikipedia

that just solidifies what I said further

I know you’re joking but this is not soy in the slightest.
I can tell when a student is lazy even if he doesn’t put Wikipedia as a source upfront. In fact, I look up the common articles on the subject I give my student and look at the “sources” ahead of time. Using Wikipedia gets them -10% by default. Literally anyone can change the information and this is not a good thing, and no, don’t give me that “multiple perspective” bullshit. There are many opinions but only one fact. And one of these facts is that Wikipedia is not considered a real source by any competent teacher.

ah. misread that, I agree with you

good tip
I got a couple flash drives and a hard drive with the decompressed version and Debian Stable on it
better safe than sorry

It's always the teachers. Teachers are the greatest block to education and the advancement of knowledge. What does being lazy have to do with truth? And no, that's a basic smear, not literally anyone can change the information. The dumbest people I've met in uni were phds, they did not know basic facts, EVEN while talking about their subject. Nobody gives a shit about your diploma mills.

No wonder mutts are degrading at a rapid pace if they're teachers are so mentally deficiant. Wikipedia is literally an amalgamation of different sources on the topic that are found in the footnotes of any article. When your student is citing wiki he's citing there sources you braindead monkey.

do not reply to the discord tranny bait

But editing is the fun part of it.
