Norwegian farmed salmon is one of the most toxic things you could eat, read about it
This and
This
>not eating fish
in short theey are pumped with pesticides to counter algae that is mass killing them because the farms are so crowded, growth hormones to make them larger, and fed with dyes to make their meat more pink, farmed salmon are pretty grey when not fed dye
Are you going to fish for salmon when you get kids to?
Just bacalhau
no they already have salmon here nearby thats fresh
Name one chemical in the pesticide humans are allergic to. One
Might try my hand at it, seems relaxing going down to a river on a rainy night at 1am in the summer
sure
The algae is a very recent thing, there are chemicals used against it. Maybe you mean the parasite that kills many salmon, which has been a problem for a while. But Notway uses very little chemicals against that, if any. I'm no salmon expert, but I think they prefer to heat up the salmon so much they barely survive while the parasited die, or they use a fish that eats the parasites.
Know nothing about growth hormones, but I doubt it's true.
The "dyes" are the same substance that salmon eat in the wild that gives them color. It also contains nutrients that are important for the salmon to live, so it's a double win.
Wild salmon can also be grey, by the way, it just depends on what they eat.
by allergic you mean one thats highly toxic? cypermethrin
*there are NO chemicals used against it.
Okay, maybe that's true. I don't know.
I would, but salmon is expensive.
I wish I could hug people and in exchange for hugs, they would buy me fresh raw salmon.
Just get a sugar daddy

your own doctors are advising against eating farmed salmon. sure, earting it from time to time will not hurt, and it's propably not much more toxic than industrialy produced red meat, but it's a good thing to know.
I do! It's tasty.
I only buy Alaskan salmon to support my own country thank you very much.
I can't, too expensive
>he's actually defending it
Oh no no no no
This is why I only buy wild caught
Unironically this, nothing against Norway but their salmon is so far from natural at this point that it's no longer healthy. Wild caught fish is much healthier than farmed.
Ah yes, N*rwegian salmon.
Jeg kjop ikke laksen du...
man Jeg kjop og spiser mange norsk torsk!!
That website seems really dubious, not reliable at all.
What's unhealthy about farmed salmon? Maybe there's something about weedkillers or something that's used in the corn and soy they eat, but is it worse than what you get in chicken or cow?
I know salmon has some exections from the laws about what you are allowed to feed your animals, but it's probably safe.
>du
*di
where to get good salmon then?
>What's unhealthy about farmed salmon?
Almost everything except for the protein and fatty acid profile.
>Additionally, farmed salmon has been found to contain toxic chemicals methylmercury and dioxins, and farms have been accused of polluting the oceans, fostering disease, and spreading sea lice. Salmon farms have also been criticized for other questionable practices, including the content of the feed, which is often supplemented with chemicals to give the fish their pink color (wild salmon develop it naturally).
>The majority of salmon on the market is farm-raised, meaning it’s farmed and harvested under controlled conditions in sea cages or net pens. The problem, according to some researchers, is that the crowded conditions of most farms can cause contamination. A 2003 report from the Environmental Working Group (EWG) found that seven out of ten farmed salmon purchased in grocery stores in San Francisco, Washington, DC, and Portland were contaminated with cancer-causing polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) at “levels that raise health concerns.”
We will never give your children back.
Basically all fish has mercury in it, and if we're to trust the Norwegian above, the chemical they feed them to give them a pink color is actually natural and what they would ingest in the wild. Dioxins and PCBs are a problem though.
Farmed fish and farmed animals in general are fed an unnatural diet which usually poisons them and poisons us when we eat their meat. Wild caught fish and grass fed animals are superior.
Almost none of this has anything to do with the salmon themselves, only side effects of farming salmon.
Pollution, sea lice and endangering wild population doesn't make eating the salmon themselves unhealthy.
Farmed salmon contains less mercury than wild fish.
And the pink colour is caused by certain types of food the salmon eats.
they stole the article from here
tnp.no
it's hard to get good quality seafood nowdays, wild caught fish have their own share of problems. just dont eat too much of it.
Too expensive
I researched that pigment and yeah, I made a fool out of myself. in nature it comes from shellfish salmons eat, and farmers add the same substance but produced synthetically to their feed.
Dōmo arigatōgozaimashita
I bought FINNISH BULL salmon today
Take that! And that!
PLEASE buy Shetland salmon. We will thank you.
I don't know if I have before. I fucking love salmon.
Chilean salmon is 100x better and cheaper
Tusen takk!
Would need a source on that. Wild fish can be full of parasites worm and shit. Also what kind of a 'poisonous' diet are they fed? And why is it poisonous for consumption? They give them that colored shit but it is harmless as it is literally the same chemical.
idk man, fries are pretty great
bare hyggelig!
