From what I understand, invading Taiwan is China's most well-planned out and wargamed scenario, but they don't have anything like the logistics to support this venture.

planning for scenarios is not only what the japanese did, they massed troops, annexed important front line bases and revved up production. you guys are not spending nearly enough on your military as you did during ww2 or comparatively as japan did during the 30's and 40's to prepare for such a war.

Korea they could take through shear force of numbers before America can reinforce. Taiwan and the Ryukyu Islands may become impossible for the US Navy to defend from invasion if the Chinese can sink American ships faster than you can build them. And if they achieve that naval blockades around the world will become weaker and weaker as more US ships are drawn into the South and East China Sea only to be sunk.

A war in the region will essentially be a game of America trying to produce enough ships that are advanced enough to approach Chinese waters and not get sunk. China will be trying to produce enough missiles, torpedoes, mines and artillery to ensure they do get sunk. To me, it seems China has the easier and cheaper objective. Missiles are cheaper than ships.

it would probably not work out well if they tried occupying China. but the US fleet in the Pacific alone is way bigger than the entire Chinese navy, plus there'd likely be more carriers and battleships sent over or built to add to that. on top of that, India would likely get involved adding to the huge number of enemies China already has in Japan, S.
