Yes, but not what you believe. No, nobody rides a horse to school, work etc...real cowboys live in West/South Texas where the real 5000 acre ranches are. The movie "No Country for Old Men" is really what life looks like out west of Austin around the Midland/Odessa/Mexican border area. Yes people including myself have and wear boots on a daily basis because once you break them in, they are comfy af and look good in jeans. Yes dudes drive big trucks, girls are feminine and wear boots with skirts, BBQ and Tex-Mex are EVERYWHERE, Hot af, joie de vivre mentality, we don't hang niggers on the weekends like many people say etc.....
People don't like to pushed around politically, yes most people are conservative and want to be left alone - which is why people get angry when liberals try to impose their views around here. How would you feel if your way of life was threatened with radical change because THEY think it is what you would want.

So the hollywood image of oil, cows, horses, ranches, proud people etc...is true for the most part. Everyone is welcome unless you get here and bitch about our culture.

Oh and the job market is strong, low taxes, great laws allowing personal freedoms, and general happiness/contentment with life is very high.

He can certainly have that. A good pair of boots are between $150-250. Anything more that that is too much and a rip off; unless they are special or something. A REAL Stetson that is steamed (fitted) for you is around $75-150 - It will last forever.
