That's irrelevant. Bitcoin is basing its entire future on Lightning, an untested piece of software with massive issues from conception. Entirely unfriendly to the average user, no adoption to any of the major exchanges despite bitcoin being on top.

It will take years for lightning to catch up. Do you really think during that time, in a competitive market, no other coin will rise to take bitcoin's spot? It might be BCH, ETH or some other sleeper hit. Point is there is a demand for digital cash, not a demand for whatever lightning is

I can assure you bitcoin core is working a lot harder than bcash, as they are creating new software implementations and protocols that more efficiently allocate blockspace. Segwit, Schnorr signatures, lightning and sidechains are all bleeding edge technology, and if they ever get implemented on bcash, they will be directly copied over from bitcoin core.
